caveman99
Bass is famous! Anyone want an autograph? Anyway, what can I say... WOW!!!! The infamous gameday atmosphere in Lincoln is ever better than advertised. The place blew us away. As has been confirmed and noted already Bobby did not commit. His plan all along is to visit all of his top schools and then decide. Nov time frame probably. I can say everything he saw and everyone he talked with, ALL made a very positive impression on him and his family. Nebraska in the clubhouse with a course record 10 under par. Great to hear Bass, tell Bobby that we would love to have him but he needs to make the right decision for him. He seems like a very classy young man and while I hope I get to watch him sporting the N on his helmet in the future, I really just wish him the best in which ever direction he goes. What did you do while here? tailgate? just tours? Alex, Be happy to.... They have a complete schedule set for the recruit when you get here. You meet with and discuss with various leaders involved with the program. We met with and had detailed discussion with multiple people on this trip. Each one about 1/2 hour or so. In our case our Itinerary included meetings with: Mike Anderson and Eric Newman - Baseball Coaches Ted Gilmore - WR Coach James Dobson - Strength & Conditioning coach Dr Tom Osbourne - Athletic Director Bo Pelini - Head Coach Dennis Leblanc - Academics Keith Zimmer - Life Skills We enjoyed the trip and learned so much about what it means to be a HUSKER. HuskerInLostWages
I met Dr. Tom once, and right there i'd have signed the dotted line. He's actually quite the soccer fan and knew who I was as well which was flattering to say the least. It's different for me than it would be for Bobby of course, I always knew who he was since I was brought up in Omaha and Counciltucky aka Council Bluffs, IA(Moved here when I was 11 because the parents hate the snow). He thought I was from Las Vegas and had a 10 minute conversation with me and my grandmother, was impressed that i'd go all the way back to Creighton just to play soccer when I could have just gone over to California to play. Talk about a class act, that man exudes respect and i'm sure you and your family noticed that. Not all of us are like Tom, he is simply a great man and a good person. He simply showed you guys what Nebraskans are all about. Born and Bred Nebraskans are kind and respectful and will go out of our way to help others. If it weren't for my business here in Vegas, i'd be back in an instant, just a better way of life. Quote Link to comment
basselope
bass, Is he lookin at playing baseball too? If so, what position does he play? Football is his focus, but yes he is planning to give it a try and play both sports. He plays SS. Now for some sad news: As some of you may have read or (notice the boot at the game), Bobby injured his foot a few weeks back. It was not getting better so when we got back from Nebraska he went to a Ortho specialist. It was not required, but the best course of action for this injury was surgery. He had it done Thurs AM & the Doctor said it went fine and he will be back to 100% very soon. Bobby was hoping to return to the field in time for the playoffs, but his health will / must be the first priority & whatever the Dr says will be the course he takes. We are currently the #1 rated team in Div II in the state & Bobby is very disappointed that he may not get a change to compete for a championship. We have spoken with the coaches of his top College choices (including Nebraska) and the injury does NOT effect his scholarship offers. I know there will be many who wish him well and a speedy recovery so in advance. Thanks for the kind works & thoughts. Quote Link to comment
