irieboy8
bass, Is he lookin at playing baseball too? If so, what position does he play? Football is his focus, but yes he is planning to give it a try and play both sports. He plays SS. Now for some sad news: As some of you may have read or (notice the boot at the game), Bobby injured his foot a few weeks back. It was not getting better so when we got back from Nebraska he went to a Ortho specialist. It was not required, but the best course of action for this injury was surgery. He had it done Thurs AM & the Doctor said it went fine and he will be back to 100% very soon. Bobby was hoping to return to the field in time for the playoffs, but his health will / must be the first priority & whatever the Dr says will be the course he takes. We are currently the #1 rated team in Div II in the state & Bobby is very disappointed that he may not get a change to compete for a championship. We have spoken with the coaches of his top College choices (including Nebraska) and the injury does NOT effect his scholarship offers. I know there will be many who wish him well and a speedy recovery so in advance. Thanks for the kind works & thoughts. Thank you.. Hope Bobby gets well quick enough to have a chance at that championship run! get well bobby... get well and rested for the rest of your season and so you can pull in da long balls when you strap on the N next season........ Street Novelist
hate to hear that...I'm sure he's very disappointed he won't be able to play in the postseason. keep ya head up Bobby and get well soon! Quote Link to comment
HuskerInLostWages
Bass any update on Bobby? Hows the healing going along and hows his spirits while he can't play? Hope all is well and he comes back with a fire in his belly. On a side note, if he can catch he could probably get quite a bit of playing time here next year. We currently have 1 receiver that is consistent and he graduates this year. Just a little point to ponder. Hope you and the family are doing well. Quote Link to comment

Bobby is doing great & itching to get back on the field. Obviously at first he was not happy about not being able to play.... but he has embraced his leadership role and is coaching his younger replacement & his teammates in reading coverages & knowing what to expect & what to do on both sides of the ball. When the Doctor gives him the OK, he will be ready to go. The team is still rated # 1 in the State of Ohio in Div II with an 8-0 record. Bobby expects to be able to return for the playoffs and do what he was born to do... WIN. Quote Link to comment

Danny Bateman
Hey Bass just a quick shout out... Very sad to hear about Bobby's injury, but it is great that he should be able to return soon. Hopefully he gets back and can finish his senior season strong. Glad you guys enjoyed your visit... hopefully the recruiting process in general isn't stressing you guys out too much. Good luck choosing the best place for Bobby to spend the next few years of his life. It is a big, important decision, so make sure you take all the time you need. Should Bobby decide to come to dear old Nebraska U, we would absolutely love to have him. I think personally it is a great fit for him. Not only would the team love what he brings to the table athletically, but even moreso than that, the thing I keep hearing about regarding your nephew is his attitude, his demeanor. By every account, from everything I've heard, Bobby seems like a throwback to old school Nebraska values. He seems like a kid that wants to do everything the RIGHT way. Strong moral values, a good head don his shoulders, and just a great kid. He's been compared to Rex Burkhead from last year, a player who just does the right things off the field while lifting his team on it. Know that NU offers more than just football. It is a very strong academic school, with exceptionally high graduation rates and always near the top in the nation of Academic All Americans. Pelini also takes care of his players. He is not a ruthless, win-at-any-cost type of coach. He knows there is more to life than football. He raises his players right, and helps mould them into responsible young men. If that interests Bobby, by all means we would love to have him. Do not let me sway you though... Bobby needs to choose whatever school is the best fit for him. Good luck once again and let Bobby know the Big Red Nation wishes him a speedy recovery. Quote Link to comment
NoLongerN
Finally did some research on this guy today and was surprized to see he was a white guy. I guess with his name and his general "specs" I assumed he was black. Always humored when you conclude something that isn't true based off of things you read. Anyway, I watch this youtube video ... At the three minute mark he has a punt return that reminded me of Johnny Rodgers famous punt return and also the great touchdown Eric Crouch had against Mizzou I believe. Very well rounded football talent and after the nine minute video it seemed he finished off his touches well and his yards after the catch and yards after getting hit were good. Certainly would enjoy a character kid like this who is a talent with heart ... reminded me of Rex Burkhead when we were recruiting him and some of the video's I watched on Rex. huskerswrkhavoc
what does enunwa do to our chances with bobby anyone? Willie? bass? Quote Link to comment
caveman99
what does enunwa do to our chances with bobby anyone? Willie? bass? Not sure why it would hurt. This staff wants to take at least 3 WR's it appears, not sure if they would stretch to 4 but since I think Evans is fated to be a Safety we only really have 2 WR's in this class thus far with Quincy and Curtis. Definitely room for at least 1 more WR IMO. Quote Link to comment

Definitely room for at least 1 more WR IMO. Is there any guarantee that Curtis is locked at WR? While I'd like to see some speed at the WR position, he seems like a Prince type recruit and could possibly play on the defensive side of the ball. Swigert would be a big plus to this class. A possession type receiver who has ability to break it long. Quote Link to comment
HuskerInLostWages
I just hope bass decides to stay over here and BS with us even if Bobby decides we're not the right fit for him. One classy guy there and fun to banter with. Quote Link to comment
huskers1
I'm not even sure he's a possession type receiver. Everyone falls into this, me included, but bc he's white he has to be a possession receiver. After watching his highlights he looks to have very good speed, agility and quickness. I don't see him being a possession receiver at all, but do see him as a very big contributor if he does decide to come here. Quote Link to comment
basselope
I can tell you Nebraska will take 3 WR in this class. Bobby is getting close to deciding & I honestly do not know what school he will choose. As said before he really can't make a bad decision. Based on my shirt, I think it is clear where I would like him to go. Lost Wages, I will stick around regardless. Quote Link to comment
