Best playcalls

Any Fumblerooskie. Greatest play ever, so good it became illegal.

Also for me going for two in the 84 Orange Bowl is the greatest decision in Husker history(just barely ahead of firing Pud and he who shall not be named). Go for the win, know you won a game/title outright. I even liked the call but maybe Gill could've rolled out a little more, but who knows.

However the greatest play call in any Husker Game is the victory kneel down.

A pair of fullback dives toward the end of the 1995 Orange Bowl!

My favorite Husker moment would be watching the TD when the receiver catches the ball laying on the ground after having "kicked" the ball into the air. Although the play probably wasn't called that way the execution of that play was enough to make me a fan! I'm sure you all know which play I am talking about. My second favorite would be the one where Bo calls the ref a "#@*&" leading to a 15 yard penalty. Can't remember the game but I think it may have been against VT....

That play was against Missou in 97 and made Matt Davidson the household name is he today. Kicked by Shevin Wiggins that initially said he did it on purpose and then recanted when told it would have been illegal had he done it on purpose. It was the greatest play I never seen because I was swarmed by the Nebraska band in the stands.

I really like the fullback traps mentioned before. The Miami defense was dog-tired, and were cheating to try to pursue the option, which left them really vulnerable to the trap. At least that's how I saw it.

I also really liked the throwback to Phillips early in the Florida bowl game. Florida wayyy over-pursued, and Phillips walked into the end zone with the escort of 2 blockers who leveled the only guy in their way.

2 trick plays that shouldn't have worked, but did, which I guess doesn't make them great play calls, but lucky ones.

One was a fumblerooskie vs. Oklahoma. George Cumby saw it the whole way, and was moving in the right direction, and he got taken out by his own player who was fooled and moving the other way. TD, or maybe just a big first down, I can't remember for sure.

2nd was the bouncearooskie, 1982 OU game. Gill bounced one off the turf slightly backwards to Fryar, who acted like it was an incomplete pass, and then straightened up to pass to TE Mitch Krenk. OU was supposed to give up on the "incompletion", but they continued charging Fryar, and two guys covered Krenk well. But Fryar hit Krenk perfectly for a long gain.

Greatest play call? There are just too many. But greatest play by play announcing is easy for me...

"And an option to the right, Tommie on the keep turns the corner 25 30, eludes a tackler, 35, Tommie Fraizer 37 38 39 40, 45, 50, 45, 40, 35, 30, he's gonna go! Holy Cow, Touchdown Tommie Frazier!"

Gives me goosebumps all the time.
