shyndy
I have a hard time believing their O will be more lethal than it was last year, and our D is alot better than it was at that point. I think their D has some definite weaknesses, and well be able to put up some points. If not we have some real problems on O. Quote Link to comment
irafreak
I'm looking for suh to get several pass breakups in this one with short over the middle drop offs. Quote Link to comment
Marf
Texas Tech currently has the #1 Offense in the country. If we shut them down this will be huge for the publicity our program, most notably the defense, will get throughout the rest of the season. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Texas Tech currently has the #1 Offense in the country. Is that based on an average of the major indicators? They're second in most categories, but averaged they probably lead the nation. Quote Link to comment
HuskerfaninOkieland
Texas Tech currently has the #1 Offense in the country. Houston is currently #1 in Total Offense. TTU is #2. And if you look at who they've played, it's not that hard to see why. Aside from UT (#4 in Total Defense and #16 in Scoring Defense), everyone else is in the lower half. K-State #53 (#66 in Scoring Defense) Houston #111 (#98 in Scoring Defense) Rice #115 (#120 in Scoring Defense) North Dakota (FCS Team--no ranking could be found) Whereas NU is currently: #13 in Total Defense (#3 in Big 12) #14 in Pass Defense (#1 in Big 12) #3 in Pass Efficiency Defense (#1 in Big 12) #33 in Rushing Defense (#5 in Big 12) #2 in Scoring Defense (#3 in Big 12) T-34 in Sacks T-51 for Tackles for Loss Quote Link to comment

Its kind of impossible for us to be 3rd in the big 12 but 2 nationally in scoring d Quote Link to comment

Marf
http://espn.go.com/college-football/statis...am/_/stat/total I was going by these statistics, and didn't look close enough to see that Houston has played less games. My bad. Texas Tech is still pretty high up in just about every offensive category though... Minus rushing. Quote Link to comment
HuskerfaninOkieland
I was using the NCAA's website. It'll break it down by team and conference even. Quote Link to comment

That also works the other way around. Quote Link to comment

Average Offensive Ranking of NU opponents thus far: 66th Average Defensive Ranking of DIV 1 TT opponents thus far: 71st ---Not sure how to factor in the 1AA team, but they are 117th worst in DIV 1AA so if you just add that number in the average D ranking of TT opponents falls to 80th Quote Link to comment

That also works the other way around. Total Offense simply measures yardage, not effectiveness. For that you need to look at Scoring Offense, or, how many points you produce per game. Here's our opponent ranks in that category: FAU 110 Ark St 48 VT 20 ULaLa 105 MU 31 Instead of an average of 66.2 (Total Offense), our opponents have an average of 62.8 (Scoring Offense). See? That's way better. Quote Link to comment
