ronsss
does the win over oklahoma move nu to the top 25,,,i don,t think so, the loss to iowa state was very damaging. Quote Link to comment
sarge87
No, I highly doubt it. We were ranked in the lower 50's the last time I checked, so we would have to jump over quite a few teams. Quote Link to comment
Husker66
the polls are soooo meaningless anymore. Ever since 01 when we went from #1 to #7 back to #1 because everyone ahead of us lost while we were finished playing... they have been screwy. polls just seem to mean if you are ranked, someone unranked is about to beat you. huskerstuckinmichigan
We need to win our next two games before we crack the top 25. If we do that, we will be ranked again going into the CU game. Quote Link to comment
macroboy
we are a 3 loss team. should we even be worried about polls? Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
I'm not worried about the polls at this point, all I care about is winning the next three games, getting to the Big XII Championship game, and going to a bowl game. Quote Link to comment

I think it helps with recruiting. exposure is never a bad thing. no I dont think t is super important, or something we should obsess over, but there are some merits to being ranked Quote Link to comment

DJR313
I don't understand the fascination with the polls at this point. Nebraska has 3 losses and will not make it to a BCS title game. The focus is on winning the north, then getting a crack at the Big 12 championship. Polls are irrelevant at this point. Quote Link to comment
HuskerTrucker
Look at the offensive numbers for the OU game...would you vote for us? Yeah, they found a way to get it done, but that was probably one of the best defensive games we have played in years... We also had too many yards in penalties against us. Take away the score, just look at the stats, and you would never guess that we would have won if you hadn't watched it. It is just too bad we don't have the offense, we would be running away with the North, and would be ranked probably in the top 5 at this point. Quote Link to comment
Yellowjacketfan
Polls only matter if you have a legit shot at the National Championship. If you are not top 5, they are meaningless. Quote Link to comment
BamaBeta
Polls only matter if you have a legit shot at the National Championship. If you are not top 5, they are meaningless. Polls only matter at the end of the season. Just play your games and let the pollsters figure everything else out. Good win for the Huskers, glad to see you took care of the Sooners. CHOPSKER
I think it matters -- for recruiting and for TV exposure. Quote Link to comment
HuskerNMO
As long as there's a poll, and the media is going to talk about them and put a number next to a teams name, it's always better to be ranked than not. Quote Link to comment
