Overland Park Husker
I saw West playing almost the enitre game. Was Dennard hurt/banged up and we wanted to rest him or does West give us better run support? I didn't see a thread about this, so sorry if this was already asked/posted. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
I have to assume Dennard's shoulder was too banged up to play. I noticed West spectating a lot tonight, and wondered about Dennard. The only explanation is the shoulder. Quote Link to comment
HuckFoley
i wondered this too.. i think it was because of the different defensive formations, but Haag was in there allot... I think we missed having dennard in there Quote Link to comment
Back In Black
West is terrible Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
Haag was getting torched tonight. I really hope the D learns to defend against the drag route across the middle. Both meier and banks just tooled on us with it. Texas will eat that alive. Quote Link to comment
WisnerPilger Husker
Dennard was hurt, he did not practive much this week. Quote Link to comment
AngryHusker88
West is terrible Glad some1 said it before me, I fully agree. I think we'll play Texas hard like we always do, but if Anthony West is our starting CB for that game, we're screwed Quote Link to comment
carlfense
West is terrible I remember a LOT of those comments about O'Hanlon as well . . . and then along came the OU game. We're better than throwing players under the bus. Or at least we should be. Quote Link to comment
HuckFoley
i hope Dennard gets healthy soon Quote Link to comment

Enhance
Bo said in the post game press conference that Dennard could have played but they kept him on the sidelines just because he is still banged up a bit and because West got most of the snaps with the ones this week. All I know is that the secondary and linebacking corp did a lot of uncharacteristic things yesterday. I remember at least 4 or 5 times KState getting some big plays off of short slant routes towards the middle of the field where we had absolutely no defenders in the area. Quote Link to comment

I don't know how uncharacteristic that is, KU did the exact thing last week, and OU did it the week before. Underneath crossing routes seem to be the hole in our D. But they tend to close up in the red zone, which is why we don't tend to give up a ton of points. Quote Link to comment
broganreynik
I noticed before the game that it was Mendoza jumping to the top of the huddle of players instead of Dennard, so I figured Dennard wasn't going to be playing. Quote Link to comment
