macroboy
There may be a thread and maybe I missed it but..... The kick out of bounds, you know, the one that had a greater effect on the game than the officials- was he coached to try and squib it or did he just miss it? Quote Link to comment
predictionking
There may be a thread and maybe I missed it but..... The kick out of bounds, you know, the one that had a greater effect on the game than the officials- was he coached to try and squib it or did he just miss it? I feel you brother. He just missed it. Adi Kunalic, arguably one of top two or three kick off specialists in college football kicked the ball out of bounds for only the second time in his Nebraska career. The kicker, whom ranks in the top 5 nationally for touchbacks, who has one of the strongest legs in college football, just flat out shanked his most important kick ever. IMO, that kick is very similar to the Nunn fumble against Texas in 2006. If Kunalic kicks the ball the same way he has 107 other times in his career, Texas likely starts that drive inside their own 25, and NU wins the game easily. Truly mindboggling, and far more upsetting than "Clock-Gate" IMO. Quote Link to comment
Nexus
I read somewhere that Cincy coach Brian Kelly said "The Nebraska kicker won't be getting a Christmas card from me this year." Quote Link to comment

Nexus
Ah we just saved em the humiliation at alabama's hands....wait who do they play? Florida ain't gonna be much better. I think Tebow will go out with a bang. Love him or hate him, I don't think he'll let Cincy's suspect Defense get to him. Florida 41 Cincy 20 Quote Link to comment
sarge87
I screamed, "THE MOTHER fu&*#r HAS MONEY AGAINST US". Would you like to clarify this? Accusing a player of taking a bribe or making wagers on games even in a posting is serious business. Don't downplay it either, people have been sued for far less. Quote Link to comment
Enhance
As another poster said, it was just a bad kick imho. This to me is more detrimental than anything. This kick set them up at the 40, which eventually led to the horse-collar, which eventually led to the game winning field goal. Take this kick out, you're looking at Texas getting the ball around the 20, horse-collar sets it up 35, and you're still looking at Texas having to drive 30+ yards to get into make-able field goal range. The ball could just have easily bounced and gone the other way..it just so happened to go out of bounds. Quote Link to comment

cscott2win
It was a culmination of events that led to the loss and not just 1 errant kick or penalty. Zack Lee's interceptions didn't help, our inability to get another first down before the go ahead field goal (which also doomed us against V Tech), play calling, pass interference calls, poor offensive line blocking, no Texas holding calls, it all added up to the perfect storm and the only way Texas could beat the Huskers!! And they had to add a second to the clock to do it. That actually takes the sting out of it somewhat. Quote Link to comment
JTrain
The reason you hadn't seen a thread about it is the same reason you don't see threads about grandma's dying, wive's cheating and getting kicked in the nuts... generally we don't like to recall those things. Quote Link to comment

I am I
Yeah, I was literally hugging complete strangers at the Fox and Hound in Denver and then looked up and saw the kick go out of bounds. I sat in my chair and watched, I just knew....man, it was like VT broken coverage all over again. I feel for the kid, w the crowd noise and all the adrenaline and whatnot, he probly tried to kill it and....well....you know. Quote Link to comment
