np_husker
There's no room for a Nebraska letdown this week. The Huskers must bounce back against unbeaten Oklahoma State to avoid a season-changing skid in the wake of the 20-13 Saturday at home to Texas. Also at stake this week: The streak. Nebraska can end its run of 20 consecutive losses to teams ranked higher than 20th in the Associated Press poll. Oklahoma State checks in at No. 17 this week, presenting the Huskers with an opportunity not available against Texas – which was unranked before the game in Lincoln. The last time NU beat a team ranked higher than 20th? Oct. 27, 2001, when it won 20-10 over No. 2 Oklahoma at Memorial Stadium. http://www.omaha.com/article/20101018/BIGRED03/101019754/-1#will-the-streak-end Quote Link to comment

ESPY
Oct 27, 2001. Good Lord that was a long time ago! It's still hard to believe NEBRASKA would ever experience a losing streak like this. Talk about a pivotal game, not only for this season, but for our program as a whole. We absolutely need this win. Quote Link to comment

It's even harder to believe that Nebraska would play so poorly at home. I can't wrap my head around that, makes no sense. Quote Link to comment

Craig
The past couple years its fairly obvious Nebraska has had a better winning streak not at home but on away games. Quote Link to comment

Since when do we talk about the Top 19 in college football? Everyone in the civilized world talks about the Top 20, don’t they? Well, we beat #20 OU last November. Mitch Sherman is a dick for wordsmithing up this arbitrary piece of garbage “higher than AP 20th” streak. 2 Quote Link to comment

This has been "the streak" everyone has been talking about even wayyy before the OU game last year. They aren't changing the definition of it. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
All phrases like that need a cutoff somewhere. Fact is, we haven't gotten it done against a top team. Oklahoma last year, is probably the one time in many, many years that it happened. We're getting closer, but we aren't there yet. Quote Link to comment

BIGREDIOWAN
I was thinking this was going to be talking about the streak of losses we've had in Stillwater. Just think, if we beat OSU we can get back on the emotional high train and get back in the Top 10 before the season is over............as long as we win out. Quote Link to comment
cscott2win
But AZ was not regular season!! Who cares..... The biggest concern is now how well the Huskers recover against the Pokes. Quote Link to comment
