Pedro Guerrero
This is a breakdown of the number of penalties called by season. What does this all mean? bball_backer
anti-Bo Here's what I don't get: Bo admitted in his presser that if he were a ref getting screamed at by a coach, he wouldn't give that coach any calls.... Take a minute to think about that. Quote Link to comment

I feel totally different this year, though. The calls are not only disproportional, but downright bizarre. I assume this is for the entire season and not just for conference games? That is where the rubber meets the road, IMO. Quote Link to comment
captain obvious
Bo's defenses are typically pretty aggressive. Quote Link to comment

I certainly wouldn't have taken the time to look that all up, but since someone else did I'll take a look. Bo's team definitely appears to be a little penalty-prone Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Bo is controlled by his anger. He even knows he's wrong. He's got to get over it or he's going to explode. Hopefully it's something he works on over the offseason. Carl, too. Quote Link to comment
GBR #1
Come to think of it...how many games has Nebraska won that Bo completely blew a gasket? I cannot think of any. Quote Link to comment
Malth
Come to think of it...how many games has Nebraska won that Bo completely blew a gasket? I cannot think of any. Maybe because he doesn't blow gaskets when he's winning. Quote Link to comment

Sparker
2008-9 are higher than all the previous years, and I remember feeling like Callahan's teams lacked discipline in that area. I don't remember feeling that way the last couple years, but the numbers definitely stand out. Bo needs to get this under control, and it isn't all on the Big XII refs. 90% Team, 10% refs Quote Link to comment

Reply how about this stat as well - for 194 snaps officiated by the same crew that did the A&M, TX, and ISU games ... not a single penalty was called on the opposing defense - zero penalties on the defense, zilch, nada, zip ... only calls on the defense were dead ball fouls - but not one during the course an offensive play - no offsides, interference, holding, roughing the passer etc. Quote Link to comment
JTrain
I think ultimately this comes down to two or more officials in the crew that called TAMU, ISU and Texas displaying (whether consciously or not) some very significant bias against Nebraska. There are probably others, but it's not as obvious. The stats point to this. I don't think it has to do with Bo. Not that his behavior is helping, but the issue with Nebraska leaving the Big 12 (which almost led to the end of the conference) is much bigger than Bo's anger. Officials' futures were at stake during this whole off-season fiasco, and don't think for a second that officials are above this type of bias. If you look at judgment calls and penalties with significant gray areas (mainly holding), these are going against Nebraska and in favor of their opponents too consistently this season to be by mere chance. Refs are supposed to be pillars of objectivity, but even the best can fall well short of this. 1 Quote Link to comment
AK-47
The question isn't "Are the refs anti-NU dating back to the end of Coach Osborne's regime?" It's "Are the refs Anti-NU specifically this year?" The numbers do show that refs may be "anti-Bo", but the disparity this year (after we announced this would be our last year in the Big 12)is remarkably staggering, especially in games that have been done by Big 12 officiating crew. So, like Bo said, "make your own deductions." Quote Link to comment
BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
Bo doesn't do himself any favors with the refs and the most recent crew are the Hatfields to the Pelini McCoys. Quote Link to comment
