Karawithasmile
So much for the best secondary..... Yeeeaah, no. Sorry, but even the best secondary is going to have it's moments with guys like Broyles and Blackmon. Wasn't it that freshman though, that just got injured, that's really burning us? Hercules
Big series here, if he calls zone read on the first play, will someone go fire him NOW. If it looks like the defense knows what play you were going to run as soon as the ball is snapped, that means it wasn't a good playcall. Quote Link to comment
Lonestar_Husker
Two things .. 1.) If Taylor cannot run off the zone play, then get him out. He is making mistakes, and is shaken in the pocket. Does no want to stand in here at all. 2.) To go off #1, get rid of the zone read. OU is overplaying it, and is too fast for our lineman. Line up with the power formation, and run it right at the heart of the D. Go playaction off of it and that can be our offense. Somebody under center would be good. Power running. Basic passing. Taylor looks rattled, but I think letting him play himself out of it would be preferable. Quick slants with a whell thrown in. The wheel is there with the way they are being overaggressive. Use it against them. But I'm just a golf pro, so I wouldn't really listen to me, either. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
We need to throw some, but how about something early in the series, first maybe our defense better get it together. Taylor Martinez: 6/14, 101 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT. Where is the evidence we need to throw more? Starting to get really sick of Taylor's panicking under pressure. Looks the same every time. He gets jittery feet, stops looking downfield and runs straight into the linemen. Then he pulls out again just in time to get sacked or throw up an awful/dangerous duck. When Taylor is on, he is on, but when's off, he gets really off and it hurts us. Not calling for Cody by the way. It's too bad Zac is not healthy though, honestly. Im really sick of Watson not realizing the damn zone crap aint working against this speedy defense. if youre gonna run it run it, if youre gonna throw it throw it. This crap taking hours to develop is uncalled for and now the entire offensive unit looks frustrated with what theyre trying to accomplish. I dont care, Watsons time has come, it seemed end of first half even after Rex's long run he was preferring to run the clock out. :yeah :yeah :yeah :yeah :yeah I officially think Watson needs to leave. Zone read has worked on some occasions this game and on many of the times it hasn't, Taylor has made a bad read. Straight up running is something that for the most part hasn't worked very well. We are doing both instead of being predictable, so I don't know what you are complaining about. Bo would have wanted to run the clock out definitely at the end of the half. After the long run though, we were gunning for the field goal quite obviously. Quote Link to comment
irafreak
Marlowe just demonstrated why the zone read needs to take a few series off.... Quote Link to comment

Pasadena Husker
nice kick return blocking. we seem really slow and lethargic this half. Quote Link to comment
