HUSKER 37
Big 10 = 10 states not 10 teams just tell everyone that when they say "but they have 12 teams" Hmm I really didn't think about that. Makes perfect sence and the name stays the same. NU just completed the big 10 (states). Big 10 actually covers only 9 states. So now I guess we get to figure out who the 10th state is? Mizzou perhaps? Hopefully...State of Bliss Human Critters and some sort of eye or nut Nebraska - Cornhuskers Illinois - Illini Indiana - Hoosiers Purdon't Boilermakers Michigan State - Spartans Ohio the State- Buckeyes Rodents, Puddy Cats, and another eye Iowa - Hawkeyes State Penn - Nittany Lions North Western Wildcats Minnesnota - Golden Gophers Wisconsin - Badgers Mechicken - Wolverines Maybe the "Nutty Folks League" and the "Cat and Mouse League"? krill
The B10 logo that's going to plastered all over TV looks fine...not amazing but fine. I've never heard anyone complain about the completely generic B12 logo. I never heard anyone complain about the B12 trophies, hell most of us didn't even know there was a division trophy until the spat this year. All this stuff doesn't really matter. chamrocck
OK, so I thought the names were a bit corny at first but I think I realize what the Big 10 is trying to do. I don't think it ultimately matters if you ended up in Legends or Leaders divisions (especially after I watched that promo above). They want to brand all the schools and programs in this manner...basically that the Big 10 has the Legends and Leaders...in a sense the tradition and top players and programs in the history of college football...just look at the "Icons" series the Big 10 Network ran...it plays to this same theme. This brand will ultimately be owned by the Big 10...the other conferences cannot compete on legend/tradition...and now the Big 10 is claiming the leadership mantel as well. They do this by saying look at the leaders that have come through the Big 10, look at the academic institutions of the Big 10. This is a counter balance to the SEC claiming they have the best athletes conference. It's not a bad strategy although a bit corny for the fan trying to break down the divisions geographically....which can't be done anyway. I think it has to grow over time...and the more it does it will just build the brand bigger. Quote Link to comment
Malth
I find it humorous that everyone on this board is suddenly a design expert. Any designer worth his weight will tell you that the best logo is one that is simple, functional, to the point, and recognizable. I like the new logo (The color could be improved, but is also fine), it works quite well. Wait, you have to be a design expert now to offer any sort of criticism on a logo? Interesting. Simple and functional is good, unless it looks like crap. And then it's crap. Quote Link to comment

adc7236
I have not read the entire thread to see where opinions are at.....but for me, I really dislike the division names. I guess I will just stand by for ridicule from my co-workers. I would make fun of them if the shoe was on the other foot. Quote Link to comment
