Ronznotes
Check out the reverse out of the RexCat - Martinez's foot is clearly offsides at the beginning of the play. Lines up offsides by almost a full foot. Quote Link to comment
Loaded For Bear
You know we had a complete game in a big win when someone is picking apart small things like the OP just did. SMH. Quote Link to comment
General Blackshirt
If he pointed at the line judge and the line judge pointed back it doesn't matter where his foot is. 1 Quote Link to comment

zoogs
Picture? Just curious. How does a QB line up 'offsides'? Quote Link to comment
jsneb83
Picture? Just curious. How does a QB line up 'offsides'? We were in the RexCat, so he was out wide as a receiver. Quote Link to comment

MJSkers
As stated, if the side judge says he's fine, he's fine. If he didn't check with the side judge, and he was THAT far offsides, he would have called it easily since he's standing right next to him. 1 Quote Link to comment
ZRod
Like everybody else said the side judge has the final word. But not having seen the picture there are two other things that you have to considered. The black line on TV is not official for the LOS and centers typically move the ball when they are getting set, sometimes a foot or more from where it originally started at in either direction. GSG
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlI22VzgJ8A The play is at the 2:14ish mark. He does look a little offsides I guess. Also, there is a good shot of the "Boneyard" guys at 6:55. Someone was talking about them in another thread. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Look at the line judge. He is supposed to straddle the line of scrimmage. You can easily see that his body center is to the left of the 40 yard line - in fact, his left foot is nearly on it. Martinez is lined up right on the line, not across it, as you can tell when you pause it at 2:17. He is clearly not offside. But, as has been mentioned umpteen times already, all Martinez had to do is to check with the line judge. If he does, and the LJ says he's OK, then he's not offside. 1 Quote Link to comment

I think a lot of people are thrown off by the LOS graphic Quote Link to comment
