Game ball goes to....

Recommended Posts

Taylor Martinez. He played his ass off. Arguably the best game of his career... this is the first time he's put up those type of numbers while also playing game manager. If he continues to develop and grow as a quarterback, we are going to be very, very good in the coming years.

As long as we can get whatever is wrong with the defense fixed.

Kain Colter for being a gamer when Persa goes down. Now a lot of people got to see why Bo and the staff wanted him. The kid stepped up;

Ebert. The one receiver that needed to be stopped and wasn't. Credit the NW staff for keeping him in the slot and alllowing him to match up against NU's worst corner, Ciante.

Pat Fitzgerald. For going for it on 4th and 1, and getting his defense geeked to own NU's Oline.

According to ESPN's box score, Martinez today:

Completed 29 of 38 passes to NINE different receivers for 308 yards, 2 TDs, no interceptions, and rushed for 53 on 12 carries. You can't really do much more to help your team win than he did today. Insanely impressive game from Taylor. Too bad nobody gave him much help today.

Martinez obvi. Kid played really well

Yes he did! It's not his fault that the receivers kept dropping the ball or fumbling the ball. We lost because we were more beat up from that Michigan State game than people thought. We lost because we were out coached, out played by a better team. Enough said-let's move on.
