If you think we have a meltdown.

This has been Bo's easiest schedule so far. Don't let the big "names" on our schedule fool you. That is how the B1G has been vastly overrated for years.

SOS

2008 21

2009 36

2010 42

2011 44

Where are you getting this SOS? Sagarin's:

2008 - 38

2009 - 52

2010 - 39

2011 - 26

The same questions apply. Big 12 title games counted? VT in 2009? Bowl games?

If so, it looks even better for the B1G.

What same questions, biggie?

If you're asking what those SOS #s encompass, from Sagarin they cover every game played in each season, and for 2011, they encompass what we've played so far.

By far, this is Bo's toughest schedule. Even factoring in Iowa, anyone we face in a bowl will be "as tough" or tougher than we've faced in our three previous bowls. So we're not getting a free ride this year, by any stretch of the imagination.

The big difference is at least those games were close. I don't mind losing if it's a hard fought, close game. This Husker team gives up and really know how to go down with a bang.

Really...Last I checked, Clemson got mudholed about as bad as we did and that was to a 5-5 team. The difference between us and the rest is that we lost to a RANKED team. Only OU and Texas can claim that also.

And we lost to ranked teams as usual.

Here's the breakdown of Bo's record:

Ranked teams 4-11

.500/ Teams with a Winning Record 18-14

Against Losing Teams. 19-1

Ranked teams played by Bo:

2008 #4 Missouri: Lost 52-17

2008 #7 Texas Tech: Lost 37-31 [OT]

2008: #4 Oklahoma: Lost 62-28

2008 Ranked Record: 0-3

2009 #13 Virginia Tech: Lost 16-15

2009 #24 Missouri: Won 27-12

2009 #20 Oklahoma: Won 10-3

2009 #3 Texas: Lost 13-12

2009 #22 Arizona: Won 33-0

2009 Ranked Record: 3-2

2010 #17 Oklahoma State: Won 51-41

2010 #7 Missouri: Won 31-17

2010 #18 Texas A&M [and referees]: Lost 9-6

2010: #10 Oklahoma: Lost 23-20

2010 Ranked Record: 2-2

2011 #7 Wisconsin: Lost 48-17

2011 #9 Michigan State: Won 24-3

2011: #12 Penn State: Won 17-14

2011: #18 Michigan: Lost 45-17

2011 Ranked Record [as of 11/20/11]: 2-2

Bo Pelini is 7-9 against ranked teams, not 4-11. And if you take games decided by 1 point or less [including OT] he could be 10-6.

Final rankings for the year, not when we played them. Who cares what they are ranked when we play them, the only thing that matters is what they are ranked at the end of the year. I should have stated that.

I also see a lot of excuses there, a win is a win and a loss is a loss. No excuces.

Maybe it's just me, but rankings [to me] signify that the team is playing a level of football deserving of that ranking when we play them. But maybe I'm alone in that group, you're still not going to get me to change my opinion.

How are rankings meaningful in the first 5-6 weeks of the season? Where was Auburn ranked last year at the beginning of the season? Why are we cracking the top ten every year despite barley deserving a top 25 ranking? End of the season rankings are more valid.

all valid points boys. let's look at it properly. LOWLY Iowa State....the same LOWLY team that beat NU ? ISU is a team that is on the rise, NU should be glad to NOT be playing them each year... Bill Snyder does more with walk ons, JuCo's, and kids every one else passed over than Mack Brown, Bo, or any other coach except SEC coaches.... NU is getting the fist in the mouth from the Big Ten on purpose, they want to say "welcome to big ten football"

my question is this : Is this a down year, and average year, or the best we have ?? if the best, Bo must go. average, Bo needs new assistants, a down year, and Dr.Tom better take over recruiting......

we need to get rid od matt ddavison on the radio, he is a pig. he disgusts me. is that what we want representing NU ??

I don't disagree with you. End of the season rankings are more valid, but once the BCS rankings start coming out is important too. I never used pre-season rankings as a base. I used rankings at the time...

Do Oklahoma fans react that same way Husker fans do after losses? Their team has real National Championship aspirations always starting in the top five pre-season. Almost every game they drop comes to an overmatched opponent... Maybe Bob Stoops should be fired? Look at the talent they have as a program... still light years ahead of where we are at and they still have hiccups along the way against weaker opponents.

OU fans are actually worse. Lose one game and they are bitching on the radio to fire stoops. If they aren't in the championship every year, fire stoops. One game lost, the next game at home is only 2/3rds full.

My god, I have to listen to it every Monday when I go to work.

I would say based on where there team starts they have a right to be unreasonable. They have the team, coaching, and ranking to be in the MNC conversation yet don't get it done.

The difference with our fan base is we play teams without a pulse in the beginning of the season and make ourselves believe the team deserves to be in the MNC mix. After each win there are a few people on here that say temper your enthusiasm the rest of the board is talking about BCS games, Top 5 rankings, respect from the media, love from ESPN.
