Husker John
So much for calling it "The Big East" http://tracking.si.com/2011/12/06/big-east-adds-boise-state-houston-smu-and-san-diego-state/?sct=hp_t2_a4&eref=sihp Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
Yup, this smacks with desperation and stupidity. But hey, SMU and Houston are back in a BCS conference, yes? Quote Link to comment

jsneb83
http://a.yfrog.com/img864/6417/w0zkn.jpg WTF?! Who are the teams from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana? Quote Link to comment
GSG
http://a.yfrog.com/i.../6417/w0zkn.jpg WTF?! Who are the teams from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana? The map includes basketball. Wisconsin has Marquette Illinois has DePaul Indiana has Notre Dame Then there's Georgetown, St John's, Seton Hall, Providence, and Villanova Quote Link to comment

HuskerCarter
As I understood this, Boise and San Diego St. are only joining as football programs. SMU, Houston and UCF are all sports. Quote Link to comment
ohiocornhusker
Anther reason why we need a playoff. Then if all 12 conference champs get an automatic bid everyone is on an even playing field an the stupid "moving to a BCS conference" can stop (as if the Big East deserves to be a BCS conference) Quote Link to comment
Landlord
I'm glad this is still about the student athletes, taking weekly trips across the country that hardly cut into class time or anything. Quote Link to comment

Moving to a bigger, more prestigious conference isn't just for a chance at a BCS spot. Recruiting, TV revenue, network contracts.... Quote Link to comment
NUance
Yup, this smacks with desperation and stupidity. But hey, SMU and Houston are back in a BCS conference, yes? Yeah, they're all in a BCS conference now--Boise, SD State, SMU, UCF, Houston. I think it's a good move for all of them. I'll guarantee these newbies will upset the old Big Crowd at least once in a while. Some team like Miami, Virginia Tech or West Virginia will get knocked off by one of these new teams every year. krill
If you can't beat the cartel, join it. I hope it's sooner rather than later that we'll be able to look back on the great falling apart of CFB and truthfully examine the sheer stupidity, pettiness, and greed in how events have unfolded over the past 24 months. Yeah. Oh hey, Rutgers, time to travel across the country to play San Diego State... Quote Link to comment
