Apparently Penn State talked to Bo about HC gig

Dispite what dip-sh$$ Nebraska fan thinks about Bo other Top 25 programs will continue to call and ask him if there is interest. At think point I think he'll stay here for a very long time unless the new AD has an agenda or he takes and NFL job. Or we are stupid and try to run him off.

One thing that is probably hurting the NU program is the emotional, uneducated fan who doesn't consider how his actions effect the kids, coaches, program etc. I would guess the majority of fans don't have a problem with Bo as our coach and and the same time they're just fine if he leaves and someone else is here. That is pretty disturbing. We have a coach who is winning. Yes he's learning, he isn't perfect but if you sit back and look at the job he's doing I would say probably 90% of what he's doing is right exactly how we want it done. Thats fantastic seeing that currently 80% of college coaches fail and are fired from their jobs in less than 4 years from taking them. I realize we have some problem with being 100% consistent but thats nature. We can strive for perfection but its damn near impossible to achive. I'm not saying we lower our standards and accept it as OK to be that way, but I think we need to also cheer and go out of our way to support the guys when we do it right. We need to allow our team and coaches to learn and grow. Our fan base is very piss poor when it comes to supporting the team and players. We are constantly grinding on them and tearing them down. We like to think we're the greatest fans in the world but if you look around and honestly judge ourselves we're not that great. The mob mentality comes way to easy to run a guy out.

If you look at the past 4 years there are only a handful of teams that have 9+ wins all four seasons and we have a chance to win 10 now and if thats the case I think we're one of like 4 or 5 teams that would have 10 wins in the last 3 years. Guys and Gals thats pretty damn good. We also have graduation rates that are fantastic and we no longer have a culture like when Billy C was here that classes were optional. Guys are learning to be responsible and good quality people. Not getting into it but Bo has also had to deal with some issues staff wise that I'm sure he didn't plan to or want to. As a coach of 4 years he's handled that remarkably well and kept it very respectful and private at the same time. I think a lot of seasoned coaches would have failed in his circumstances. All in I think Bo is a damn fine coach and an even better person. I hope the media agenda and fan base don't break and guy down so much he decides to dedicate his time to another University.

This guy is working hard for Nebraska. He continues to reexamine himself and try to grow and wants this program to get better and back to where it was. He's not looking to make this job a stepping stone, but I think there's a chance the fans, media and a few boosters that might have it end up that way.

I interviewed Bo to shovel snow for me this Winter. He's currently in my top 3...may get a call back.

I have 5 more candidates for ya...up your way i think you guys call em the Packers Offensive line..... After being pimp-slapped by the Chiefs they may be looking for a job....

Have fun not making the playoffs but hey, at least you'll have the warm memories of your one NFL title to hold you over in January.

I appreciate you confusing my Vikings with another NFL franchise.... We have won zero super bowls....

Couldnt pass up a chance to jab at the Packers, call it jealousy, cuz thats what it is....

Well I know Larry Johnson Sr. is a candidate for the Penn State HC job.

I'll be surprised if anyone from the current staff is around. They are getting a look the same way Turner and Bo did when Frank was fired. But I don't know how you keep those guys there when several more things continue to come out about the level of cover ups this program has had. I know the Gov who started as the lead investigation into the Sandusky trial made sure he showed up to the trustees meeting and indicated everyone in the football program top to bottom needed to be gone base on the facts he had uncovered it the case.

Have to ask now.... Are you a Packers fan that thinks it was a "good thing" to lose now? I know some media has suggested this at times....

I don't think I have seen so much hypocritical crap in one post in my life. You bash anyone who has a less than positive opinion of Bo, then make up stuff about Callahan in the next paragraph. Isn't that doing what you just said the dumbF*** NU fans were doing to Bo? But that is ok? Learning to be responsible? Ask Carl why he was forced to leave, that is some high morals too. At least he did get rid of Sanders after he was busted.

Bo is barley qualified to be a college HC, and you think he will go to an NFL job? The only reason he's qualified now is because he was given a job he wasn't ready for. Talk about being out of touch.

That last paragraph is all BS too, he's too stubborn to "redefine himself" and get off of your high horse and making stuff to make him look better than what he is.

It's never a "good thing" to lose but I guess you could say that's what I think. I didn't think an undefeated season was possible given our bendy defense and addiction to the pass so I kind of exhaled losing to KC as I know a lot of other fans did. Better to KC than to Detroit or Chicago and better now than in the playoffs. A lot of the pressure is off and so is much of the motivation for opponents so I'm not "happy" we lost but I'm not suicidal either. It's the NFL...teams lose. It happens.

I think the majority of Husker fans and the rest of the country see that Bo is doing a good job.

Yes, he has faults, we have inconsistencies, but we are young, and learning.

I think da skers is dead on accurate.

I also think that it's the SMALL MINORITY of EXTREMISTS Husker fans, that *MIGHT* drive Bo away. Those are the people that constantly blow up his Twitter account, or blow up players Twitter accounts for losing. Or the ones that call and harass him on his phone, or anything that is personal. I think Bo is ticked off at those people, not the majority of the fans.

I am 100% behind Bo and I have stated that numerous times on here, however, I think that when ONE fan criticizes him in any way shape or form, I think he believes that's how the rest of the fan base feels. I would hope he knows that it's only the crazy fans that feel like that and not the majority of fans that have his back.

It's somewhat of a compliment that other teams are interested in Bo. We just have to keep hoping and supporting him, the staff, and the players that we appreciate their hard work, and that it is a process, and when we *get there* it will be that much sweeter, and hope that Bo turns down any and all offers because he is happy here. He knows how Husker fans were like during Solich last year and when he got fired. He knew what he was getting himself into. We just have to avoid any extremists points of view, because not only does that hurt us now, it will hurt us in the long-run if Bo ever left.

Face it guys. We don't have a coach who the country knows will stay at Nebraska forever. The days of the Devaney, Osborne, and Solich, who would be here until they retire and we know they wouldn't get pulled away from other teams, are over.

It's just the times of the era.

No, he isn't the only coach that can wit at Nebraska. But I want Bo here and I am damn proud to call him our head coach.

We all have an opinion. I happen to agree with most of da skers post. Like it or not, Bo is the right coach, he is what Neb needed, to get this program turned back around. Maybe he doesn't kiss up enough to the fans, the way some would like, but I don't think that was his first agenda, when hired. He has this program winning , now lets give him time to work on putting a good staff together, and give him time to work on getting that very small fan base on board, with a little better chemistry in dealing with them and the media. Seem to forget, this is his first job as a head coach. Not all of us hit a homerun, in our first at bat, but we did get better at it over time. jmo
