RedCountry
Theres quite a bit of whining goin on by way of the hillbillies, in regards to Cally's apparent "throat slash" gesture. Rembmer that? It was when he was goin irate about the eleventeenth missed holding call that led to the final TD. I think he was just making a reference to the way his players were being held. what do you guys think? I say F the hillbillies. KansasHusker
"I say F the hillbillies." LOL, right on man, hells no callahan shouldn't be fined or anything for that matter of his actions... Quote Link to comment
ping_zing_i3
o'll billy c should have kellen huston'd the ref,.. Quote Link to comment
BigWillie
Honestly, Cally can go off on the refs to the media and I would completely support him and any coach that did so. Heck, I would go as far as to pitch in and help pay the fine if they did so. Quote Link to comment
Red Snow Sword: Husker Sentinel
o'll billy c should have kellen huston'd the ref,.. There are other people who need to be fined, in my opinion. And a few more who need a good punch in the face, too. Quote Link to comment
Huskrz65
Who was that ref anyway? I don't get home to Lincoln too often so I was unaware of his "popularity" as pointed out to me by my father-in-law. I guess he...well...SUCKS! Quote Link to comment
huskered17
It was great to see him fired up. I think he starting to get into "Husker" football. Quote Link to comment
formerfan
I dont see the big deal here. I do agree, I am all for having the officials called out. Its a tough job, for sure, but for there to be a gag order on criticism against them is totally absurd. Quote Link to comment
huskernumerouno
I know we are not the only team that does not get calls, but ONE holding call in EIGHT games is getting old. Even the abc people made a refrence to that fact. As for the question "should Callahan be fined?" HELL NO!!!!! Quote Link to comment
BigRedDallasTexan
If Callahan were to get fined I would also expect the ref to get fined as well. I know he's not supposed to be up in Callahan's face like that. I've never seen a football ref go at a coach like that. I'm with Willie.. let the coaches talk a bunch of sh** about the refs and i'll help with the fine. Quote Link to comment
nu4everfan15
should he be fined? no, not at all. it was a better gesture than the old marcus vick flip off or something like that. Quote Link to comment
StillWatchin
I thought it was pretty funny myself...(the gesture...not the hold) Quote Link to comment
NamelessHusker
When Callahan was asked about it in the postgame, he refused to answer it because of what happened last year with Mark Mangino being fined $100,000 for his comment about the ref's. What i do know from someone within the team is that when the argument went down, Callahan was yelling at Steve Uscheck (the ref) who i mentioned in this thread a while back that there was an obvious holding call, Steve said none of the ref's saw it, and Callahan replied back saying that the holding caused a touchdown that basically just slit their throat, then he made the gesture.
