This game will be televised tonight at 6:30 CST on BTN.

 

The Illini have not played a true "Series" yet this season. They have played in 3 tournaments and then 2 games with Northern Illinois and 2 games with Southern Illinois. At 1 tournament they had 2 games that were canceled. The Fighting Illini have a record of 10-7, beating 1 top 25 team, Oregon 2-1. The only other top 25 team they have faced is Oregon St. which the lost 8-2.

 

The common opponents between Nebraska and Illinois are: Gonzaga, which beat the Illini twice 13-3, 7-3. Also the Illini beat West Virginia 14-3. Overall the Illini have not put up outstanding numbers offensively. 3 games they have scored more than 10 runs and 1 of those games was a loss. (Notre Dame)

The Huskers have scored 185 runs this season while giving up 102.

Sat., March 24 - 2:05 p.m.: So. Jon Keller (RHP, 3-0) vs. Illinois - John Kravetz (RHP, 3-0)

Sun., March 25 - 1:05 p.m.: So. Zach Hirsch (LHP, 2-1) vs. Illinois - Josh Ferry (RHP, 1-0)

Pretty sure Lemke was the Friday guy all along. They were simply having him late in the weekend because of his injury and inability to go deep in games early on. They didn't want to have to waste the bullpen early in the weekend and then not have it if it was needed later on in the weekend. Hopefully Hirsch get's everything strapped down on Sundays

FYI if we win both the Friday and Saturday games we will be wearing black jerseys on sunday to try to complete the sweep, we will do this every BIG series if we win the first two, i have inside connections

The team used to do this on Sundays if they split the first two games, I'll assume this was coach Bolt's idea? I like it, it gave them some attitude, I just hope we get to see the black jersey every weekend.
