Pasadena Husker
reminds me of the gonzaga debacles at the beginning of the year. Quote Link to comment
huskerhill
A well placed groundball would be nice... not being able to get a bunt down really hurt CU. Quote Link to comment
HuskerFanChuck
Nice SO for first out. Quote Link to comment
PaulCrewe
Inability to get a key sacbunt down leads to a strikeout for Huber. A page straight out of the MA baseball handbook last year Quote Link to comment

HuskerFanChuck
Nice job to take the 1 game advantage in the in-state rivalry! Quote Link to comment
PaulCrewe
Two biggest things I took from tonight. 1. Jon Keller may have just gone through a wake up that was needed. If he can back this performance up again, he will be back in the weekend rotation VERY quickly. Amazing how being ahead in the count damn near every hitter can help you dominate a game. He hit his spots with the fastball, and his curve was tits on tonight. Let's hope this jump starts his confidence. 2. NU played smallball tonight at its finest. They were VERY aggressive on the bases. Taking the extra base on throws, the steals, the heads up running. No long ball, and no extrabase hits for NU. NU may have hit one or two balls tonight real solidly. Creighton is horrendous at the plate, but have been solid on the bump. This can be another mental hurdle overcame for the team tonight. the fact that they won without an extrabase hit by owning the basepaths. Again AWESOME outing by Keller, and let's hope this carries on to OSU. Plus any win against CU is great. Quote Link to comment
HuskerFanChuck
PC, agree with you on both counts. I think the more they can beat the basepaths and grind out wins, the more confidence it gives them in the workmanlike style of play Erstad seems to favor. If Keller can back this up and get back in the weekend rotation, and Pierce can back up his good performance on Saturday, we'll quickly have a great 3-man starting rotation on the weekend, and potentially have guys battling with GOOD performances for those starting rotation spots on the weekend. Wouldn't THAT be a great problem to have? Good luck on the weekend at Ohio State, guys. Quote Link to comment
