The Dude
It's called "turkey bacon". Apparently it's a baconesque product made out of turkey meat. Why does this abomination even exist? Quote Link to comment

If you've never tried it, you should. I made fun of it for the longest time and then ate it and loved it. Not as good as pork bacon but still really good. Quote Link to comment

zoogs
Turkey is one of the healthier meats out there, I guess, especially compared to pork. So if you want to get your bacon fix in, it doesn't seem like a bad substitute. Quote Link to comment

So if you want to get your bacon fix in, it doesn't seem like a bad substitute. Actually depending on the cuts of bacon and the type of turkey bacon you get it could be just as bad if not worse than regular bacon. Some packages of turkey bacon actually have the same amount of fat as regular bacon and others actually have a higher sodium content than bacon. So if you're eating for health reason keep an eye on the label. It's actually pretty good stuff though, bought some last month because I hadn't eaten it in a while and it was delicious. Seems like every time I've had it it's sweeter than regular bacon. My girlfriend actually liked it too and she's used to her small town meat locker bacon. Don't knock it if ya haven't tried it! NUance
Turkey bacon is a perfectly fine substitute for pork bacon. Just like an inflatable doll would be a fine substitute for Jessica Alba. lol Quote Link to comment
Hoosker
My thoughts on any sort of bacon substitute. God Bless Ron Swanson. Quote Link to comment
