DT Kyle Peko [Oregon State Commit]

Wow!. Peko's pad level is really good. That makes him really strong as he will always win the leverage battle. He's quick too with good feet. This guy has got to be the number 1 choice at DT for the immediate help that we need.

 

I Don't think we get him judging by some earlier comments.

 

That's too bad. At least he visited so maybe there's a chance. We are in on some good players so it will turn out.

talks about him potentially visiting. he throws the bones because at La Habra High School they use the blackshirt tradition. I went to high school there as well. My sister knows him and asked about Nebraska and he doesn't know anything about them and said he doesn't want to go there. He really downplayed the N offer and it might seem like if he does come, it will be because of a free trip. I can't quote my sister completely but I know the conversation she had with him ended with her saying, "Wow, I hope you don't go to Nebraska because you don't deserve them"

If they have a BS tradition on their defense and they don't have any clue why, then the coaches and school are to blame for not educating. That's very Busch League type of stuff. If I was a player I would want to know and understand the tradition and where it came from.

I've worn my blackshirt t-shirt before in front of former LH players and some have told me they were told about the tradition and where it came from. I know he likes State a lot and maybe this past game made him realize that we are the better program. Ive asked many people who know him and cover the LH program and they don't think he's that great. I don't want to bash the kid. It will be one of those "eye opening visits" where he will say " Nebraska is going to make me think about stuff" but never actually come here. We will see. The kid parties ALOT btw.

Sounds like he is a tad overrated. If I were to rank the DTs we are looking at it would be Russell > Bradley > Hooks > injured toby > Peko

I like Peko the best then Russell, then Hooks. I can't find any video of Toby so I am not going to guess.

Funny how everyone has different favorites at the JUCO DT. I like Hooks, Quincy, Toby, Bradley, and then Peko. However, I do think anyone of these guys would be a great help to our defense.

In my opinion, I think that our JUCO DT pecking order should be 1) Russell 2) Hooks 3) Peko

 

If Toby wants N you take him but you don't recruit JUCO kids to sit a year.

 

Even though we are losing a bit on our interior I like what we currently have on our roster in terms of young talent.

I agree, i think he was at the bottom of the juco board for us. As speed said he as always been MSU bound with family ties. I know we want to take 2 juco DTs but its looking a little scary right now, there is a chance we might strike out on all of them. Kaz wlll have his work cut out for him this offseason. Luckily we have some talent waiting, but they are going to have to step up fast......Valentine. TPeat is as good as gone as far as ive heard.

I think Peko plays with the best pad level of any of the juco's DT that I've seen, thus I think he will be a more consistent player than some of the other guys.

It's easy to play with good pad level when you're only six feet tall. Trust me, the other guys are better.

Tpeat is 40 lbs overweight. He has been hindered with injuries (back) but I think the ship has sailed without him.
