Stopping Mobile QBs

No one can figure out how to stop mobile qb's. No, Dennard Robinson is not a mobile qb. He is a running back-more like a cornerback-trying to be a qb, in a west coast offense. Braxton Miller gives everyone fits. Look all over the nation, why do you think the "mobile qb" is the hot trend in football right now? Because NO ONE can stop'em. Yes it's tough, but that's the way it is. We gave Ohio St. a lot tonight. We just dont have the horses yet. That's the fact.

Stop, no. Slow down and not get a career high rushing, yes. This is friggin NU, I am sick of the whole no one can stop one crap. If we get the horses, can the staff coach them?

It would be cool to stop or slow them down. But its nearly impossible to defend against a mobile QB. You know what, even with all the hype around Braxton, he still hasn't proved he is a passer. Despite the poor play of Taylor Martinez, he still put up more passing yds and had a better completion rate than Braxton Miller.

Didn't we do that in the first quarter? Why did we stop doing what was working? We were stopping Braxton Miller int he first quarter. We had Urban Meyer scared that first quarter. What happened after that? Did we stop blitzing? What? That was so frustrating for me. It is also frustrating when we pass when we're in the red zone. Why? We're pounding the rock and then we go in the air? Why?? I also wondered why we didn't use Imani Cross last night. Did anyone see him in the game?

Bo Pelini won't win a conference championship unless he figures out how to stop a mobile QB.

Sick of this run all over us. No defense. BS

and to think Robinson from UM is still to come.....he just put up 235 yeards against Purgue on the ground today

The benefit is you don't really need to worry about his arm.

he will probably have his career day rushing the ball against nebraska. there are many qb's out there who have had the best rushing game of their career against us.

Hmm we have a running qb that people have figured out. Lets look at what other teams do to stop us. They pressure and cover. We do neither. When we blitzed we were successful. As soon as we stopped they gashed us. Our strategy is give the recievers time to get open, give the qb time in the pocket to find the open reciever. If noone is open they have had lots of time to find the most open running lane. Pressure is the answer!

Think of him more as a gimmick RB. They're in essence running the wildcat formation.

You also have Notre Dame and 'Bama film to watch on how to stop him.

We all wondered why they stopped putting the pressure on Braxton after the first Q. Don't understand why this staff gos into a safe mode when they get a lead.

Imani did get in on at least one play I saw, he was flagged for a push in the back, on a punt or kickoff return.

GBR!!!

It seemed as though we stopped blitzing or really started to play more containment instead of pinning our ears back when Miller completed a long pass I belive to the TE. Then, when they got us thinking about that they ran Miller for 73 yards or so. They made changes used our blitz to their advantage and we just stopped to try and contain, and put us right where Meyer wanted us.
