ICT HSKR 10
Trying to plan a trip up for the Penn State game. I remember hearing or seeing something about the BiG not playing night games in November, is that true? If so that would put it down for either 11 or 2:30 slot? Thanks! Quote Link to comment

I remember hearing or seeing something about the BiG not playing night games in November, is that true? If so that would put it down for either 11 or 2:30 slot? Thanks! Correct. It will be one of those time slots. The B1G offices still live the the 1880s in some ways. Of course you want your high profile games off prime time TV right as the season is coming to an end. Though in some corners, like Mich(who just got permanent lights install in 2012, you read that right), they don't like night games at all. Some arrogant BS about tradition and "this is the way we do it here" A plus is they have said in upcoming years they may try it "If Nebraska wanted to try it, and the opponent was willing" Quote Link to comment
jaws
Big10 might be living in the past but I like the 3:30 (EST) game times. Also, strigori, OSU still doesn't have permanent lights. They bring in temp lighting when needed. Quote Link to comment
huKSer
TO preferred to have 1 pm games because the blue hairs didn't like driving home at night. Quote Link to comment

mrandyk
I prefer 2:30 games to 11 and 7. 11 is too damn early for me, and 7 means that Nebraska just blew another big primetime game and I have no time to calm down from the loss before I go out (or I'm at work Saturday night and miss it). deedsker
Some games just need to be at 7pm. Looking at you tOSU and Meechigan. Quote Link to comment
jaws
Some games just need to be at 7pm. Looking at you tOSU and Meechigan. No, no it doesn't. Noon or 3:30 kickoff is just fine for the game. Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
TO preferred to have 1 pm games because the blue hairs didn't like driving home at night. And so they didn't miss out on any senior discounts at area restaurants. Some games just need to be at 7pm. Looking at you tOSU and Meechigan. Agreed. The 'November Rule' needs to be revisited. Silly, silly rule. Quote Link to comment
GSG
Apparently at the B1G media days for basketball Delaney was asked a couple football questions and one was about night games in November. Delaney said the Big Ten would have no problems with teams scheduling night games in November. The league’s media agreements prevent schools from playing night games in November, but Delany has no opposition toward changes. “November night games could be if that’s what our schools wanted,” Delany said. “There’s no line in the sand on that issue. Typically the weather really changes in the third and four week of October so we’ve been mindful about the fans and their comfort. But if people wanted to experiment, we don’t have any philosophical opposition.” http://www.kcrg.com/sports/local/B1G-Commissioner-Delany-Talks-Playoffs-Night-Games-175856871.html Quote Link to comment
WoodyHayes1951
I wouldn't mind night games vs Wisky, PSU, Nebraska, Iowa, Sparty or Purdue(when they are good). Indiana,Northwestern and Minnesota? please make these nooners. I hate when they are night games. Illinois and meatchicken should always be in the afternoon. Quote Link to comment

The only reason they become night games is for TV. Unless teams like Illinois, Indiana or Northwestern are having an amazing out of character year, they will be a 11 or 2:30 kick. But especially with the playoff coming with a selection committee, the B1G is hamstringing itself by not having the marque games during prime time. Quote Link to comment
