okaive
Not really karma for us. We lost a lot while they lost nothing, especially since they are on suspension. 3 Quote Link to comment

knapplc
These shirts are asinine. The people who would buy them either weren't alive in 1982 or have forgotten the significance of that game. The McCloskey Call prevented Nebraska from playing for a National Championship. Penn State lost a game. And frankly, the call was FAR less controversial. This shirt also ignores the fact that the ensuing TD catch in 1982 wasn't a catch - he trapped the ball. So back-to-back plays screw Nebraska out of a National Championship, and Penn State lost the chance to take a three-point lead with nine minutes left in the game and a surging Husker team getting the ball back. 5 Quote Link to comment

I wasn't alive then...but I do know a bit from video and others of how that game in '82 played out. I think the shirt is a bit funny. hehe I do agree with you though. The '82 catch out of bounds was CLEARLY out of bounds and it cost NEB huge title implications. The 2012 call doesn't even have the same significance in all aspects. I find it funny thought that Penn St. fans were bitching...karma or not...I find it a bit entertaining. Quote Link to comment

I made the same points in another thread soon after the game. Absolutely NO comparison. Also, Saturday's call could be described as in dispute, but arguable. The Happy Valley calls were blatantly biased. Quote Link to comment
broganreynik
I feel like that "karma" was already dealt in 1994. 1 Quote Link to comment

darkhorse85
He didn't post a link and say "hey, buy this!" It's just a picture. Hardly spamming. Quote Link to comment
Coqui
Board rules --- #6 - No Spamming Exactly. I waited 2 years to start spamming. Or I could post an NEWS article just talking about a shirt that people are selling because of the controversy that occurred recently. EDIT: Although I guess someone edited out the news article. Guess since I'm not a Husker fan, I can't make threads here. Quote Link to comment

mrandyk
Forgive me, as I was born in 91, but I had no idea until now that the horrendous call against Penn State in 82 not only cost this team a national championship, but also gave Penn State one. Had I been born 30 years earlier I would have f'ing rioted after that game. Quote Link to comment

But aside from that, feel free to make as many pertinent threads as you'd like. Quote Link to comment
