As some of you know I'm a home brewer and have been doing it for years now. My best friend who was my best man in my wedding is coming home from Afghanistan and we're having a coming home party for him on June 22nd. He's a Blackhawk pilot and a great guy and this was something personal that I could do for him. Back in January I asked a guy I knew from high school to design a label for the beer I brewed my buddy and gave him some ideas. We've been in touch off and on over the past 6 months and he told me he had the label done he just needed to transfer the drawing over to his computer so he could print the labels. Well.....................now I can't get him to send me a message back, but the guy's posting on Facebook so I don't get why he won't talk with me. I need some help from those of you that could design such a thing and I need it fairly quickly.

The name of my "brewery" is "Rolling Hills Brewing" the beer is a Kolsch type ale with a 4.5 % ABV. The ideas I had were the following with the "names" I came up with:

1. American Hero Ale: Thinking of a subdued type American Flag label, green and black, that you see on military uniforms so it's a pretty basic design, but we could always add some stuff to it like a quote or something, "American Hero Ale, reserved for those that have fought for the freedom that we enjoy today, thank a veteran" or something like that.

2. Bill's Homecoming Ale: Something with the yellow ribbon on it, again pretty basic, but I've allowed some creative freedom that way.

3. Blackhawk Ale: Thinking this one would look like the skin of the helicopter, rivets and all with some of the markings commonly found on the Blackhawk. Think this would look cool as hell as well and probably my favorite idea out of all of them.

I have zero problem allowing for creative freedom and letting someone come up with something else. I just want my brewery name on there, the ABV, and the style of beer that it is. I need this fairly quickly for his party and I'm pissed this guy isn't getting back to me, not cool at all! It would help if it was in a format that I could take to a printing store pretty easily and have it printed to stick to the bottles.

I like Blackhawk Ale. Most military members don't really want that label of "hero" attached to them, they just want the respect that they deserve, so I don't really like the first name. The second name is alright, but there's not any sort of label to work with. Blackhawk sounds like a kickass name and could be an awesome label!

I utterly suck at this kind of thing, but I'll give it a go tonight if nobody else does first. Can you give me an idea about dimensions, colors, stuff like that? Anything you have would be helpful.

What you really need is for HuskerAddict to see this. He'd draw up something very cool in very short order.

What dimensions are you looking for? Full wrap, partial, etc...

Typical label that would be a two piece type label most likely. One on the front, small space on the sides, another on the back. I already had to pay to make the beer and I'll also have to pay to print the labels so if someone could do it as a favor that would be great. I want him to know this is the best beer I've made so far and I care about what he and his family went through over the past year.
