Ameer Abdullah Career Stat Watch

A few of those Nebraska records to keep in mind:

* Most rushing yards by a Husker. Abdullah is now within 554 of catching the great Mike Rozier. And although it should always be mentioned that Rozier ran for 4,780 yards in just three seasons and 668 carries (Abdullah has had 729), it would still be a major feat. .......

Abdullah would need to average 138.5 yards a game to set the record by the end of the regular season. While that’s no given, he is averaging 156.1 rushing yards a game to date......

And reaching 2,000 rushing yards in a season? It remains in play. Especially if Nebraska gets to the Big Ten Championship Game, guaranteeing the running back at least six more games this year.

He needs 751 more yards to hit that milestone. If he has six games, he’d need to average 125.1 yards to reach it. If he had five, he’d need to average 150.2.

* Most 100-yard games by a Husker. Abdullah already is second in NU history with 23, which also leads the nation among current players. (Georgia junior Todd Gurley is second with 17 games of more than 100 yards rushing.) Rozier had 26.

* Touchdowns in a season by a Husker. Abdullah has 19. He’s four from surpassing Ahman Green (1997) and Bobby Reynolds (1950). He’s 10 behind Rozier’s touchdown total in 1983. Abdullah has scored multiple rushing touchdowns in five straight games, which ties Rozier’s streak in 1983.

Now I'm not gonna sit here and dismiss anything Mr Rozier accomplished. I don't know what sort of injuries his oline had, but he did play on one of the most prolific offenses in Husker history. AA has had to deal with decimated OLines and a revolving door at QB. Nobody would mistake last years offense for the scoring explosion offense Rozier played on. Despite the preseason drivel comparing the two.

7,186 career all purpose yards (one of only 11 players in NCAA FBS history to cross the 7,000 mark and #2 in B1G all time)

4,588 career rushing yards (#2 in Nebraska history and just 192 behind Mike Rozier's 4,780)

Oh what might have been if not for the Purdue injury.

Thanks Ameer!! The numbers don't tell the whole story, you are the greatest.
