Ameer Abdullah Career Stat Watch

Recommended Posts

Ameer passed Ahman Green tonight and now has the 2nd most rushing yards (4001 career yds) in Husker history. Mike Rozier is 1st with 4780 yds.

In other words, he needs 129 yd/game over the next 6 games (5 regular season plus a bowl as Huskers became bowl eligible tonight).

If they get to the B1G championship, Ameer needs 111 yd/game over the next 7 games.

So that means AA needs to average 155.8 ypg to match Rozier's 4780 during the regular season.

129.8 ypg to match with a bowl game

111.3 ypg to match with a CCG and bowl game

Doesn't look likely for the regular season, but definitely a possibility during the post season.

Tough, but Rutgers and Purdue have bad rush defenses. He could break 200 in both of those games.

AA was held in check by the #17 rush defense on the road on a cold night on a wet field. He was slowed for awhile against the #69 rush defense on the road on a damp field but ended up with a nice game.

Now, we get to face the #44 rush defense at home on what looks to be a perfect day for football followed by the #89 rush defense at home on probably another really nice day.

I think we'll see stats closer to Miami and Illinois rather than the last two.

I had a hard time finding a list but finally found this one. There are discrepancies between it and the one the Twitter feed is referring to which is probably because bowl game stats didn't use to count. It appears the Twitter list has the bowl game stats added back in.

Either way, he should be in second place in 2-3 more games and should have a shot at the #1 spot by the end of the year.
