I understand offside and icing violations (duh) and pretty much understand goal crease rule. BTW: Push Nebraska Cornhuskers ice hockey team especially moved from Big12 to B1G country . EbylHusker Posted February 18, 2014 Share Posted February 18, 2014 It's a place where the refs can converge and discuss during a stoppage of play. Players aren't allowed to enter or linger in that crease, and can be issued a misconduct penalty if they do. That's exceedingly rare, though (I can't even think of an instance off the top of my head), as they're usually just given a warning to get away. The idea is to stop what happens in football, soccer, etc, where the refs are mobbed by players while they try to make a decision on the field. Quote Link to comment
