I became a DeWalt addict during my construction days . . . and I now have enough 18v tools and chargers laying around that I'm committed for the foreseeable future. The company that I worked for is transitioning to the lithium ion 20v tools. They're nice . . . the lighter weight is probably the biggest difference. The only downside (other than not fitting all of my 18v tools) is that they go dead with no warning. The 18v tools would give you a heads up before you climbed that three story scaffolding only to find out that the battery was dead. I didn't notice much difference in power. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to recommend the old style batteries for home use. Quote Link to comment
