What should teachercd watch this summer?

Recommended Posts

Help a guy out. Make your suggestion(s) for what teachercd should watch this summer. Okay, granted we don't know what he's already seen. So just make a guess at what you think he'd be interested in. Maybe throw in something obscure that he hasn't likely seen.

My suggestions?

  • Band of Brothers. If you have time, read the book first. This is a great, great HBO mini-series.

  • The one season series Firefly followed by the movie Serenity. Probably my favorite thing on Netflix, if you get that.

  • Rushmore and/or The Royal Tenenbaums. Wes Anderson's two best movies.

  • Happy People: A Year in the Taiga. A documentary about modern day trappers in a remote Siberian village. They are phenomenal craftsmen.

Interesting picks! I love Rushmore!

Yeah, I like Wes Anderson's style. Rushmore and Royal Tenenbaums are both great flicks. I also like his animated film, The Fantastic Mr. Fox. I haven't seen a couple of his latest films though: Moonrise Kingdom and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Guess I have those to look forward to.

you should dedicate yourself to watching 'the wire'.

I concur with this. I just finished season 1 last night.

Going to watch season 1 of The Americans staring tonight and then go back to Season 2 of the Wire after that.

while watching the entire series, i was not crazy about season 2. but upon rewatching it, season 2 might be my favorite.

Maybe get one of the pay cable channels that you don't already get. Like HBO, Max, Encore, Starz, etc., if there's one of those you don't already subscribe to. The On-Demand stuff you'll gain access to will provide you with plenty of content.

Either that, or take up golf.
