jsneb83
Sounds like Brown had a tough day kicking a couple days ago but was good today. Conversely, Bondi had been kicking well but didn't do so hot today. Hopefully someone will find some consistency. Bo said earlier that Drew is still getting the timing down, which I'm sure every freshman kicker struggles with at first. Quote Link to comment

Been mixing and matching there and trying to get someone else up to speed. Quote Link to comment
NUpolo8
Hey, so....... Is there a long snapper yet? Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Sounds like Frosh Walk-on Josh Faulkenberry is getting most of the work and is settling in nicely. Didn't realize we had another guy on the team specifically as a long snapper but his bio said he went through try-outs last October and joined the team in January. Quote Link to comment

GSG
Grant Muessel @Muessel 2m Ameer Abdullah on punt return: "I consider myself one of the better players on this team, so I want the best players out there at all times" 1 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Another report said Faulkenberry is doing most of the snapping on field goals and extra points but Gerry is doing most of the punt snapping. Gerry was on punt coverage all last year but I'm not sure he would be again as a starting safety but he's great on coverage. You know, for the one or two times per game that we'll punt this year. Our offense will score so much we well punt only once or twice like you said! Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
Considering the center can release right away, to be able to have one of the fasted guys on the team snapping on punts would utterly fantastic. Quote Link to comment

Totally agree. Although the front seven can all release at the snap if we keep the same scheme as last year. Quote Link to comment

I thought there was a rule that prevented all but the center and outside gunners from releasing right away. Has that changed or has it always been this way and I never noticed cuz of schemes of keepin guys in? Quote Link to comment

That's one of those rules that is different at each level (HS, college, NFL) but they've all been able to release at the snap for some time. That's why the scheme we now use has been becoming more popular over the last 8-10 years or so. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Would not have guessed this. A little (lot) more consistency and we might really be in business. Brian Christopherson @HuskerExtraBC 2m #Husker punter Sam Foltz had his inconsistencies last yr, but his leg strength is no question. Had a punt of at least 54 yards in nine games Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt96
That's great we have guys working of fair catches, any twitter talk of installing a punt return scheme this year? They have one. Its the punt fake coverage. The returner only has to beat 10 guys to make it to his blockers. Who are still waiting for the fake even after the punt coverage team has ran by them. Mavric
Brian Christopherson @HuskerExtraBC 3h Bondi/Brown kicking race too close to call. Both were pretty good today. Hit on high percentage despite being heckled by whole team #Huskers Quote Link to comment
