Mavric
Yes, we haven't exactly faced the toughest schedule. But a lot of other teams haven't faced Murder's Row either. We'll find out more in the next few weeks but for now, Nebraska is... T-11 in Scoring Offense (T-8 among Power 5 conference schools) # 5 in Total Offense (#3) # 9 in Rushing Yards per Game (#5) # 3 in Rushing Yards per Attempt (#2) #20 in Scoring Defense (#19) #18 in Total Defense (#17) # 5 in Opponent's Completion Percentage (#5) #20 in Passing Yardage Allowed per Game (#14) # 9 in Punting Average (#6) # 2 in Punt Return Yards (#1) #27 in Punt Return Average (#21) Not a bad place to start Quote Link to comment

NebraskaHarry
We're definitely ahead of where we were this same time last year. At least I think we are. Quote Link to comment

Count 'Bility
# 2 in Punt Return Yards Can we frame this! Just makes you wonder why we couldn't try something different last year. i honestly think that once the injuries took place on offense as well as have havin such an abundance if youth on defense, the punt return game became kind of a lost hope. Coaches inly have so many hours of live prep each week and im thinkin that once we went from a vereran offense to an inexperienced one with a freshman qb, a lot of that special teams time had to be redelegated to the other phases and we just got over-basic. 1 Quote Link to comment
VA Husker Fan
# 2 in Punt Return Yards Can we frame this! Yeah, but our points allowed on the punt return team has got to be at or toward the bottom! Quote Link to comment

The Dude
Where do we rank in "could have been picked" passes, or is that not really a thing? 1 Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
To echo Count's sentiments, I think that last year they were just trying to figure out what they were going to do at QB, and the defense overall. The special teams became secondary. Also punt returns is a weird thing in that most fans think it is an easy thing to do. Just throw a fast WR back there and you will be ok. But it appears that no one before Pierson El had a lot of experience fielding punts. Pierson El was recruited mainly due to his return skills and he's showing he's the real deal. He did fumble one against Fresno, but made up for it with all the other success he has had. Quote Link to comment
