mwj98
I never thought I would ever feel this way about our program. Never. I'm not yelling or mad, just disappointed. What has happened to this program? I don't expect to return to the 90's, but good god we have completely come off the rails. National spotlight.....embarrassed again? I found myself hoping in the first quarter that we could keep it up and silencing that small voice in my head saying "just don't blow it". And then it happened. Watching the board that day, you could sense what folks were thinking as the 3 and outs mounted. It was surreal. The funny thing is, I didn't feel bad. I've seen this movie before. Unfortunately, we need a change. I don't care how it happens, but it needs to happen. I am afraid the attendance record will fall next. Love my huskers....but I never thought we would ever get to this point. 2 Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Attendance record won't fall this season, all tickets were bought before the season started to the best of my knowledge. Maybe next year if there is no change.......... Quote Link to comment
Redux
Thats pretty much where Im at. Just beyond disappointed. I really wanted Bo to work out. Im a fan of his style and think he is a great person. That doesnt win us games though clearly. This schedule was more than do able. If tOSU had our schedule they would probably be #1 by now. The two biggest games were losses. Two of the biggest cupcake games were sloppy as hell wins. I really thought we would turn a corner this year. Now Im sitting here dreading going to the game this weekend. DREADING IT! Ive never felt like this during a week where I knew I was going to Memorial Stadium on Saturday.....this just feels wrong. Ive supported Bo for 7 years now. Id like to say it wasnt in vain. But I know we arent winning a conference title this year. I dont think we will win 11 games even if we win our next two. My batch of kool aid is flat and for the first time I dont think next year will be better. This sucks. All weekend the uppity folks with the "I told you so" attitude got to enjoy the latest bed crapping. Thats where we are as a fanbase. Husker fans using an embarrassing loss to rub other Husker fans face in said crappy bed. This isnt fun anymore. 1 Quote Link to comment
Hujan
That's the thing: It doesn't need to be the 90s, but I would just love to watch competitive Nebraska teams that play sound football. Honestly, I would be ecstatic with Wisconsin's program even without all of those Rose Bowl appearances. Years of fairly consistent success, the occasional 8-5 season, team that plays fundamentally sound smash-mouth football, with no or extremely rare blowouts. A boy can dream. 1 Quote Link to comment

Maybe next year if there is no change.......... There will be empty seats this Saturday. I'd bet money on it. And we can crow that "tickets were bought, it's still a sellout". But I hope the empty seats speak volumes. Quote Link to comment

junior4949
I find it somewhat ironic people are now disappointed when 2007 really wasn't all that long ago. Quote Link to comment

Even not coming off an embarrassment there would be empty seats. Quote Link to comment

Im not justifying the piece of sh#t I watched Saturday. I have tickets to the Minnesota game. Guess what? Im still going to be there. All I said was there would have been empty seats regardless. It isnt going to aid in the ousting of Bo. Quote Link to comment

The record was the same, there was no conference title to play for, and the cu game for senior day was jammed. And it was cold, and early. I'm betting it will look nothing like this Saturday. The difference is hope, and trust that the staff could get it together. That's gone. 10 Quote Link to comment
Redux
You really cant see jack through your bitter colored glasses can you. My first comment had nothing to do with the embarrassment we all watched Saturday. My point was mostly that our home schedule sucked this year, we dont have strong ties to Minnesota Purdue or Rutgers so nobody has been super pumped to go to the live games anyway. Also, its going to be cold and most in attendance probably expect a loss going in. Unless half that stadium is empty it isnt going to get Bo fired. I know that is hard for you to understand. The cold weather is a convenient enough excuse for the AD to throw out as to why the attendance is lower than normal. Quote Link to comment

But it's a start. Quote Link to comment

Almost as astounding as the lack of credit you give our fanbase. Quote Link to comment
MichiganDad3
I find it somewhat ironic people are now disappointed when 2007 really wasn't all that long ago. We knew Cally was gone ... that gave us hope Quote Link to comment
