minnHusker6
I really don't take what Adam Rittenberg says to heart. I've asked him simple questions on his espn blog and you can kinda tell he has his preseason magazine and anything that someone else has said that is obvious written down on a sheet of paper right in front of him. beanman
some people think bo was held to an unreasonable standard and will make damn sure the next coach will be held to those same imaginary standards. They weren't unreasonable, but in the same token they are not suddenly imaginary. Can you just go away for awhile? I'm out of Ibuprofin and was kinda comfortable here on my couch. You're giving me a headache. Quote Link to comment

StPaulHusker
I like how some of these pundits question the move when they have been hammering Nebraska about being mediocre for the last 3 or 4 years. Quote Link to comment
okaive
Its funny that the media doesn't discuss this while they are hyping up Pelini's 9 win seasons: Nebraska FBS wins: FAU 3-8 Fres 5-6 Mia 6-5 Ill 5-6 NW 5-6 Rut 6-5 Pur 3-8 Iowa 7-5 Quote Link to comment

WoodyHayes1951
I agree with the firing but It should have been done last year. Expectations is what sets Nebraska apart from the Iowa's of the world and why the Big Ten added them in the first place. Big problem is that you are competing against two open jobs that are more attractive than Nebraska. Do you go with a top OC or an established coach?? 2 Quote Link to comment
The Dude
If this is "what Nebraska is now", then it's what we are with or without Pelini. I don't buy it, however. You can't tell me Minnesota is bringing in better recruiting classes. Quote Link to comment

Hunter94
i would rather be what we are, w/o Pelini, and give a new guy with more ambition a chance! Quote Link to comment

Big problem is that you are competing against two open jobs that are more attractive than Nebraska. Do you go with a top OC or an established coach?? i agree that this should have happened last year for a lot of reasons. but i do not buy that we are competing with mich. and uf because i think we need the right fit as much as anything. and the type of coaches that mich. and uf may go after and can get are not the type of guys we will likely look at. for instance, harbaugh or les miles might go to mich., they would never come to neb. so, no matter what year this happened, our biggest challenge would be just to find the best fit possible. i think there are some gems out there that could really move us forward. just my imo, though.
