Mavric
Freedom Akinmoladun will start at DE for the injured Gangwish. Michael Rose-Ivey may line up at DE on passing downs. 1 Quote Link to comment
Kernal
I just read Banker said they have no plans to use LBs at Rush End. >> Banker said the Huskers experimented in the offseason with two linebackers playing a rush-end spot on third down. Sophomore Marcus Newby, who contributed as a rush-end early last season, auditioned in the spring. Junior Michael Rose-Ivey did some rush-end work this summer. ... At this point, lining up linebackers like defensive ends is not part of NU's plan with Gangwish out, Banker said. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/practice-report-sept-south-alabama-s-speed-has-nu-s/article_9deb5b90-55b7-11e5-a7cf-77492d2f8306.html Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
Too bad Gangwish got hurt. He was showing great effort but didn't have the speed and athleticism to track down Hill for most of the game. His tackle on that 4th down in the 3rd quarter was a nice adjustment to spin back toward the line of scrimmage and make the play. 1 Quote Link to comment
Warrior10
Alex Davis may have RS pulled. If continues to improve. Quote Link to comment
RedRex
What happened to Marcus Newby? I thought pass rush was the one thing we knew he could do? Quote Link to comment
gobiggergoredder
What happened to Marcus Newby? I thought pass rush was the one thing we knew he could do? I was thinking the same thing. He has a hard time getting off blocks, but when Gregory was out last year he was the only speed on the D Line. Quote Link to comment
NUance
I thought Dzuristache was behind Gangwish on the depth chart. : Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
I thought Dzuristache was behind Gangwish on the depth chart. : Yeah, but Freedom was clearly the #3 DE overall, even if he was listed behind McMullen, rather than Gangwish. Quote Link to comment

NUinID
Actually the pass rush on Saturday was OK IMO it could have been better, but you have to take into account that Hill is/was super mobile and his backup wasn't bad either. There were some bad angles and such but they still had 3 sacks. Quote Link to comment
