Lux
The defense overall played very very well. Quote Link to comment
GBRedneck
The defense overall played very very well. If by "overall" you mean the first 59 minutes of the game. Quote Link to comment
74Hunter
Well, things certainly are more interesting. Looks like we probably won't have to put up with another boring 9 win season. 1 Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
I was gonna go with the pass defense improvement. Then i rewatched and realized how many balls illinois dropped and that Lunt was about as accurate as a fifth grader. Nothin here either. 1 Quote Link to comment
GBRedneck
Well, things certainly are more interesting. Looks like we probably won't have to put up with another boring 9 win season. And we'll probably break that hated 4-loss streak. Only 2 more to go. Quote Link to comment
Hayseed
No, we already know we have good running backs in an offense that doesn't use them. There was nothing unusual that happened in this game to project much upside. Saying we need to scrap everything and start over is not usually seen as a positive development. 13 points? Oh, I did thing of one positive thing.......the Chinese rooting for their Illinois team loved it. Quote Link to comment
ADS
The defense overall played very very well. If by "overall" you mean the first 59 minutes of the game. The offense has to take just as much blame for that. Horrible okay calling and time management. Defense did all it could. raw1
If you can't meet the goal, change the goal. Now making a bowl game is going to be the challenge. Theoretically we could still win the conference, at least the west, but realistically, the wisconsin game will probably put an end to that goal. However, it is being played in Lincoln so if Riley can somehow get control of this team (a big if) and they start playing real Nebraska football (something we haven't seen for years, almost decades) things could still turn around. I doubt it but ....it could happen. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
How about this: despite the complaints about the lack of depth (some of which is valid), we apparently have some backups who can play pretty well. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
And kind of a bittersweet positive: Quote Link to comment
MoneyBall
Janovich isn't the fastest or strongest guy on the field, but almost every time he runs the ball he gets plenty of yards and I'll bet the defender(s) that engage him are getting worn down from the impacts. The dude is a beast. 2 Quote Link to comment
