junior4949
Seven is too long, but he should get at least four which is what Clownahan was given. I'm a Riley supporter. If I'm wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. 1 Quote Link to comment
NUance
Jesus this thread is terrible. The same people that want Riley fired are the same ones that bash the players and boo at the games. You're doing nothing but hurting the program and making yourself look like an ass. It's a tough season so far, and luck hadn't been on your side like it has been in the past (see: 2012 season). The truth is that the coaches aren't perfect and they're working with what they got. The players aren't perfect but they're fighting like hell to win. So get off your f'ing high horse and give them a chance. sh#t like that article only sets the team back more and hurts the psyche of the players. ADS, This captures exactly how I feel right now. In fact, it's such a good post it deserves more than one +1. So I'm going to go back and give four of your other, earlier posts +1s. : 2 Quote Link to comment

zoogs
The players aren't perfect, but we support them and root for them to do better. The coaches aren't perfect, but we support them and root for them to do better. In neither case are they doing terrible, but they don't have the W's to show for it -- and we know we're all hurting because it's been so close. This is about exactly what ADS said. Are the doubters some of the ones bashing the players? Maybe. There's probably some of that on both sides. One thing is for sure, it's only from one side that you see fans badmouthing coaches in earshot of visiting recruits, or expressing hope that recruits or players leave for elsewhere for their sake. 3 Quote Link to comment

Some people here can understand a year of transition and will reserve making toxic comments until next year or the year after. Some choose to be toxic all the time no matter what. 5 Quote Link to comment
commando
why does there have to be 2 sides? can't we all cheer and support the huskers without trying to tear down the coaches/players/recruits/administration/trainers/hot dog vendors/etc.... 2 Quote Link to comment

Not really, I think everyone should be given a fair shot but should not be crowned starter when they walk on campus. Young players in three years should be able to grasp the system and run it well. This is a typical transition year, although it hasn't gone perfectly it is going to take some time to get us back to where we all want to be. So no our current players are not bad they just don't have the system down completely. Quote Link to comment

I've actually thought about something like that, but it's probably a bad idea. There's enough chippiness as there is. The last thing we want to throw into the fray is a +1/-1 competition and one more thing for us to all fight over. Quote Link to comment

Hell of a strawman. But it's the strawman you need right now. Practically every thread right here on this forum does exactly what I stated. How is that a strawman? Do I need to post links and quotes? 1 Quote Link to comment
