Baylor Star Travon Blanchard Suspended After Judge Issues Protective Order Against Him

Baylor announced this afternoon that they had suspended football star Travon Blanchard after a McLennan County judge issued a protective order against him. Earlier this month, a woman that had been in a relationship with Blanchard filed for a legal order to keep Blanchard away from her, claiming that he had engaged in a pattern of violent behavior towards her, per KWTX. Blanchard is a senior safety with the Bears.

Art Briles Writes Letter Explaining How He's A Great Guy Who Didn't Do Anything Wrong

Former Baylor head football coach Art Briles, who presided over a football program that remains mired in one of the biggest sexual-assault scandals in sports history, is still very upset that people want to place any blame on him for the fact that his players allegedly committed 52 rapes over the course of four years. Briles isn’t going to let his name get dragged through the mud any longer, and he’s got a sternly worded, batsh#t letter to prove it.

Kim Mulkey tearfully apologizes for 'knock them in the face' comments

Baylor women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey made a tearful public apology Thursday, five days after complaining about the negative coverage and the tarnish in reputation that have followed the sexual assault scandal involving the school and its football program.

Mulkey sat silent with tears in her eyes for a long time, as she addressed reporters on camera for the first time since telling Baylor fans that if people tell them they will never send their daughters to the school, they should "knock them right in the face.''

Why does every scandalous news topic somehow always (in my mind) parallel our administration?

Seriously, I know the Baylor issues have nothing to do with DC, but how horrific and insidious. It's a example of how when there is lack of morals and leadership at the top, and when the example you set by doing or allowing others to do things that are in the gray you set the tone and the environment. They need to shut down the entire athletic program and start over in about 5 years.

It seems like every month a new transgression comes to light. Rape, sexting, inappropriate conduct...It doesn't matter who they fire and who they hire, this s%$! seems to keep happening. If the NCAA had any balls at all, they would shut this program down for a few years and make Baylor clean house, from the top all the way to the bottom.

Baylor Lawyers Reveal NCAA Investigation In Court Filing

The NCAA is currently conducting an investigation of Baylor in regards to its football program’s recent sexual assault scandal, according to a recent legal filing from university lawyers.

Baylor is currently facing seven lawsuits from over a dozen women, including current and former students, who are suing the school for failing to properly respond—or respond at all, in some cases—to their reports of sexual assault. The NCAA investigation was revealed in a June 12 filing by Baylor lawyers, who were responding to a request from the plaintiffs that asked the court to compel the school to turn over the entirety of materials produced during the Pepper Hamilton report.
