The 2016 Republican National Convention

Recommended Posts

I gave you that +1. For full accuracy.

1. Communist and socialist are not the same thing.

2. It's not clear exactly what you consider communism to be, or socialism to be, or why you figure outing someone as a socialist should be a scandal.

3. Obama isn't a socialist.

If you want to explore all of these topics in greater detail, please start a thread about it. I ask you to because you seem interested, and because most others here wouldn't advance those arguments.

We can also circle back to your various claims about Hillary, or have we dropped that in the hang-up over whether you actually called Obama communist or simply insinuated it?

HF2000:

Intellectual dishonesty on the part of those I listed:

  • "Hillary wants to abolish the 2nd amendment."
  • We shouldn't care about climate change/we can't do anything/we don't cause anything//there's "growing skepticism in the scientific community about it" (see post #153 in Veepstakes thread for other Pence gems-- did you know smoking doesn't kill people?)
  • War on Christians
  • We're less safe (stats do NOT back this up)
  • We can't/don't vet Syrian refugees.

Need I continue?

It's ok, I don't demand you to post facts for every post you make. You are free to believe what you want.

Yeah, of course I will debate some things, just like everyone else.

HF2000.....

Serious comment.

I think where some people's confusion is coming from is that you defend Trump constantly and talk about how amazingly great he is.

But, I noticed in another thread you said you probably will be voting for Johnson.

Maybe you can help me out, which post gave that impression (defending Trump and how amazing great i think he is)?

OR is it because I attack Hillary in the same way they attack Trump, which of course they can't handle?

Nobody expects facts for every post - but we do when statements are made that are presented as something other than your opinion. When you make very strong, bold statements and then present them as fact then yes, people want to see why you think it to be.

You can feel any way you want, and think what you want to think and write what you want to write here - by simply approaching your posts as opinion or feelings I think everybody would find it easier to discuss things with you. When I say "Iowa is the worst team west of PA in kicking field goals" then I better have something to back that up. Otherwise I say "Iowa sucks at kicking field goals".

The forum is one of spirited debate and we all come to hope to learn from each other and broaden our thoughts on issues (or at least I do). But for the most part it's friendly and respectful - we appreciate each others differences of opinions. I know yours would be respected, and the worst thing you'd be asked in reply would be, "tell me why you feel that way?"

Ok....now I will show my own confusion.

I had you mixed up with someone else.

Please accept my apologies.

Screw Trump.

Let him take his incessant fear-mongering and go play on people's base emotions as a two-bit dictator in some third-world country.

Disappointed that so many in the Republican party seemed to just want to throw the book at Clinton. I mean, I get it, that's their thing. But it seemed to me the only ones up there with a positive message were his kids, Pence, and oddly enough, Ted Cruz.

Also disappointing is their complete disregard for any type of objective fact. I'm not shocked, because it's a known fact that the factions of the right we're dealing with here (Trump, Newt, Pence, Tea Partiers) have made hay using intellectual dishonesty in the past, but it's still disappointing. Being able to back up what you say should still matter, right?

The party has really lost its way. It is Trump's party now. Win or lose in the fall, I'm going to live the rest of my life happy I kept responsibility for him off my hands.

I would trust Trump way before trusting Clinton. Clinton is the most shady, underhanded, egotistical, maniacal candidate we have seen in some time.

If it comes to "trust" as far as motives of the candidates. Clinton's career depends on the continuation of American government, so if she does something shady it more than likely won't directly impact our lives (i.e. giving a government bid to a donor to the Clinton Foundation). However, Trump has said "out loud" that he is okay with bankrupting America and making a deal on the debt. That "shadiness" is far scarier than someone taking the dinnerware from the WH diningroom...

Someone has been actually giving my posts a +1, shocker sometimes +2. I have an excellent rating on this site.

Don't kid yourself too much - everyone has an "excellent" rating. It's a meaningless word.

Wha.......

It's the Callahan rating system bro!

So, I AM the talent this board needed? If only I could've been coached up.....

(A BC recruiting post may have just derailed a P&R thread.....Kudos to you Z!)

Nice post, thanks... Let me ask you this.

If you see this post, what do you think, it is opinion or something else? Serious question.

I would trust Trump way before trusting Clinton. Clinton is the most shady, underhanded, egotistical, maniacal candidate we have seen in some time.

To me, this is clearly someone giving an opinion.

Do you expect supporting statements for opinions? zoogs says he does, from me anyway.

I might've patiently asked you to provide even a supporting argument for your many hysterical claims.
