Popular Post Scratchtown
Wow. Just wow. That was a helluva game played by both teams. Big league atmosphere. I've been to many Husker games and have always downplayed the "home field advantage" blaming old people for being quiet. Saturday was so freaking loud and I sat there wondering when these people were going to shut up. Haha! I sat in section 101. Great seats. I've never been in the NW corner before. It was a GREAT view. That dang sun just never went down. It was HOT! Fans around me were pretty good. I'll admit I was a little obnoxious toward others initially till the Long Island's wore off. I was BEGGING for someone to get after me, and no one would. Except the one guy behind me kept yelling at me "Duck you!". I thought that was funny actually. TA. That guy might be special this year. Didn't think it could happen. Long season to go yet but it looks like he's made strides. Granted. Oregon secondary/defense isn't very good. Lots of people kept telling me that Royce Freeman could have made the difference and I kept telling people no he wouldn't have because Oregon still ran for north of 300 yards. 2 pt conversions. Oregon had the matchups they needed to score on them, left side of the formation Nebraska had 2 guys to Oregon's 3. Interesting thing is, that instead of a back up QB taking the snap like it used to be, they had Nelson back there, who can't throw. Head scratchers for sure. Nelson never executed the right way. NU running game will be very good this year, another thing I wasn't sure would happen. This is due to TA's ability to be more accurate throwing the football. Ziggy is SO good. I was about to leave the game when the score got to 28-20, but decided to stay to see what Oregon did on offense. I didn't expect Langs to quit running the football. But then again, I swear that guy snaps himself with a rubber band every time he calls a run play. NU could have scored on every possession in the second half if Langs doesn't try to get cute. At some point I worry that will cost his team. Outlook looks good for NU this year. Oregon? not so much. I'm very very worried about the next 5. Colorado, WSU, Washington, Cal, Arizona St. The last 4 aren't cake walks either. USC, Stanford, Utah, and the Civil War. I hope Oregon can win ball games for you guys. I'm just not sure if there are ANY gimmes. Could possibly be 2-10. Doubt it, but you just never know. Congrats on the win! I hope it is the springboard NU needs. 11 Quote Link to comment
NUinID
Coach glad you had a good time. Oregon really came to play. They showed more stones than they had in their first 2 games. If they play that well the rest of the year they should be in most games. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Please tell me you weren't the two they showed on TV that had shirts that were half Husker and half Duck. Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
I understand you are an Oregon fan, but you are from Nebraska and were trying to start SH*T with other Nebraskans? That doesn't sound very smart. Yes, you might have been a little tipsy and it could have been "playful", but it still doesn't sound very smart. 4 Quote Link to comment
Redux
2 things. Why were you begging for someone to get after you? And why were you going to leave when Nebraska was only up by 8? 1 Quote Link to comment

That also seemed odd to me. Why would you leave when your team was within 1 score and in the 3rd quarter. 3 Quote Link to comment

Your comment of "Begging someone to get after me" sounds like you are being a drunk, mid-to-late 20's guy with too much testosterone and trying to start SH!T. Maybe it was playful banter, and I wasn't there. But, when you word it that way in your original post, it sounds like you are being an ass. I don't have a problem with drinking before the games, I do it almost every time I go to Husker games. But, it doesn't give you an excuse to be an ass (which you may not have been). Is there a "come at me, bro" GIF out there on the interweb? 2 Quote Link to comment

Because he thought our playcaller was going to be smart and run the ball down their throat the rest of the game and end it. But then we started doing dumb stuff lol. Quote Link to comment

Undone
At any rate, good game to you. Although, it's still confusing to me why you're an Oregon fan. But, good game. This is as good a place as any for this - Yesterday I cruised one of Oregon's forums on 247sports. I know that we all know this, but it still blew my mind: Their entire program and fans really consider their team to be 90% offense. Hardly any of their fans had issues with the fact that their defense couldn't get a stop to seal the game. I get it, it's Oregon's MO to score 55 per game...but it's still just so bizarre to me. I honestly do think that Hoke is probably a good thing for them. Just think what even this year's team would be like for them with a good defense? There was talk of Prukop not being cut from the right cloth to be an Oregon quarterback. LOL, he was one of the hottest transfers last year, wasn't he? Could be wrong about that. But he's an excellent QB. I predict that Oregon will beat Washington. I highly doubt they'll lose more than three this year. 1 Quote Link to comment

Their takes on Prukop are amazing, considering his final 2 were Oregon and Alabama. Quote Link to comment
Undone
I guess that Mariotta really messed with their expectations. No judgment there...we know a thing or two about doing that irrationally also. But with a slightly better defense, they've got a great team. 1 Quote Link to comment
