Roll Skers
Let's be real. Who will be playing at skill positions (mainly WR/TE) next season? All tight ends gone and lots of wr gone. Only three players have real playing time at wr. This will be make or break for this offense IMO. Here is a chart of our wr core for 2017. Morgan- Stud, should be leading in yards, catches, and touchdowns next year. Pierson-El- Can be really good, a lot of question marks. Looked pretty solid in the bowl game. Reimers- 2 TD last year that i recall, should be solid. Speilman- Heard he is good Then it gets iffy K Williams Darlington?- Has been working at WR McQuitty- Freshman Johnson Jr.- Freshman (possibly Lewis?)- Freshman Grimm would be playing for sure if he did not transfer. Tight End is a way different story with Carter, Cotton, and Foster all gone. 1 Quote Link to comment
Warrior10
For guys currently on the team at WR you are looking at a top 5 of Morgan, DPE, Reimers, Spielman and Keyan Williams. After that you are counting on TrFr and walkons who havnt contributed. Quote Link to comment
Roll Skers
Spiehlman? forgot him, thanks Quote Link to comment
Warrior10
TE: Hoppes seems to be top guy at the moment. Really need one or a combo of Englehaupt, Snyder and Stoll to really step up. Quote Link to comment
Scott Tenorman
I think McQuitty plays, Lewis plays for sure if we land him. There's a few other frosh like Holmes and Johnson that would probably get some time on offense if we land either of them. KJJ has the ball skills to play right away imo, just looks like he needs to develop a little first. Speilman definitely plays, probably could/should have this year. Quote Link to comment
NUance
Tight End is a way different story with Carter, Cotton, and Foster all gone. Part of this is due to recruiting snafus on the defensive side of the ball. Freedom Akinmoladun was slated to be our next great TE. And I think he would have been. But last year (2015) we had absolutely no one capable of playing DE. So we moved Freedom from TE to DE. Given that we have 85 scholarships just like everyone else in the nation, how can we be so short handed at TE, DE and center—as well as the D-line and O-line in general? Who were we recruiting three and four years ago? It makes one wonder. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
As for TE, I see: Snyder Englehaupt Stoll All are very young but I believe someone will come out of this group to be pretty good. Also, McNitt could also play TE. Quote Link to comment

BigRedBuster
As far as WRs: Obviously we have Morgan, Reimers, DPE, Speilman. Those will probably be your top WRs at the beginning of the season. I think one or two of the true freshmen will see playing time especially if we get Lewis. One walkon that I have seen mentioned several places now is Conor Young. Quote Link to comment
Jackskers83
I think we still have a better shot with Calvin than Lewis, but I think Lewis plays right away if he comes, not sure about Calvin. If we do still lack depth I can see Darnay or Greg Johnson play some wide out if they come here but as of right now we are not the favorite to land either of those guys. Quote Link to comment
swmohusker
Calvin would be most likely to play right away, followed by mcquitty. Mcquitty will be a lot like Westy, not a blazer but amazing hands and finds holes in the defense, could play inside or outside. Calvin can create separation and can create match up issues with elite quickness. Lewis is a freak and could play immediately too if we land him. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
I know this doesn't help this year, but in 2018, we have a very highly rated TE coming to Lincoln. Quote Link to comment
