Danny Bateman
I mean... The Trumpification of the GOP isn't good for everyone. I have to imagine minorities are heading for the exits in the GOP tent in droves. 2 Link to comment

zoogs
Quote In the past I would have been indignant at such attacks and eager to assert my conservative credentials. (...) Being conservative used to be central to my identity. But now, frankly, I don’t give a damn. I prefer to think of myself as a classical liberal, because “conservative” has become practically synonymous with “Trump lackey.” Yes! Well said. Accommodation with these people is a losing battle. Whether you're a liberal who doesn't want to appear partisan or unreasonable, or an erstwhile conservative who still wants to be seen as such. There is no decent effect of responding to the pressures placed by these people. Link to comment
Danny Bateman
Mark Warner is the the vice chair of the Senate Intel Committee. The House Intel Committee Republicans, chaired by Nunes, leaked his private text messages to Fox News. Both chairs of the Senate Committee called a private meeting with Paul Ryan to complain. He did nothing. Truly one of the outstanding moral and ethical cowards of our time. #repealandreplaceRyan Edited March 1, 2018 by dudeguyy 1 Link to comment
BigRedBuster
I haven’t looked at this for a long time. Party Affiliation Around the time trump was elected, Republicans were hovering around 27-31%. The last sat four months have been around 22-25%. It will be interesting to see what February comes out as. Is the 22% in January an anomaly or is it a very telling statistic? 3 Link to comment
Danny Bateman
Seems like a nice guy. What the hell happened to conservatism? Moreover, what happened to Orrin Hatch? At one point in time I thought the senior senator from Utah was better than this. Apparently I was wrong. Edited March 2, 2018 by dudeguyy 1 Link to comment
Moiraine
Well I call Hatch the dumbassest people person. Link to comment
zoogs
Really salient point: Taking a stand here is more revealing than not taking a stand on anything ever at all. It lets you know everything by which this GOP isn't bothered in the least, compared to the thing that will really set their hair on fire. Priorities matter and in case they weren't obvious before, the curtain has been pulled all the way back. 1 Link to comment
Danny Bateman
With high-quality Millennial outreach programs like this, I'm completely shocked the GOP approval ratings among the younger generations are in the toilet. Seriously. They should be relentlessly mocked for this level of ineptitude. Link to comment
