Great look from Iowa Rep Steve King. It's since been deleted after a lengthy delay. This guy used to be my rep when I lived in Iowa.

 

He's attacking a high school student speaking her mind for being Cuban. Unspeakably bad. He needs to go.

 

And yet, a broad swath of the GOP base is swinging this direction right along with him.

"A Republican candidate for the Massachusetts House says he won’t apologize after attacking a student survivor of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting, calling David Hogg a “communist pig.” Ron Beaty has been tweeting about Hogg, who has become an outspoken gun control advocate after a gunman killed 17 people inside his high school in February. The county commissioner in Barnstable, Mass., called the teenager “an absolute idiot,” “a two bit punk” and a “self-promoting opportunistic rat” in the past week."

 

Republicans are basically Westboro Baptist Church members.

I posted this because I found it interesting that some countries that some people would think are much more socialistic than us, are listed as a higher level of Democracy than the US.

 

In fact, we are listed as a "flawed Democracy"....and it keeps getting worse.

The bolded is a pretty ridiculous statement. I know plenty of reasonable Republicans, and some Democrats that are certifiable nutjobs.  There are reasonable and unreasonable people in each party.
