Because I've seen games that SHOULD have been called that were not http://www.huskers.com/pdf8/835734.pdf for example. In fact, I've never seen a Big 10 game end early for the mercy rule. Ten run rule is in effect for last game in a B1G conference series. Though since there's no plane to catch and they're taking the bus to the tourney...it is up in the air. Same year, Sunday versus Ohio State Nebraska led 14-2 after 7 and they made them play to the bitter end, which annoyed me because Ohio State put up a 5 spot to ruin some of our pitching stats Quote Link to comment
