I get that all offenses use deception to fool the opposing defenses, but it seems like Riley's/Langsdorf's offense "relies" on deception to be effective.  That deception causes over-complication in blocking schemes, and it takes away the "brunt force" nature of successful offensive lines.

^^^This is our problem under Riley in a nutshell. In my simple man's vocabulary this is what I see as relying too heavily on finesse. Deception and misdirection is great when used occasionally but when it's your only plan and you are totally incapable of brute force when needed, then it's a pretty big problem IMO. Did I mention that I hate the offense we try to run?

The irony of this video is off the charts.  Barry Alvarez took everything he learned from Nebraska, took what we did in the 90's, and made that Wisconsin's way.

We're soft, finesse, and throwing the ball all over the field.  Wisconsin is now beating Nebraska relentlessly every year, with the style of play we used to destroy opponents with.

Compare that to this s#!t

When they are actually practicing against a defender, the defender is putting up no resistance at all. These videos are all you need to watch as to why Wisconsin o-line is so much better than ours. "Snap the punch. Bend the knees". What a joke.
