SandhillshuskerW
It looks like we should be in good shape as long as Miles gets at least one more recruit or another transfer that can make an immediate impact. We aren't losing as much production as quite a few teams that are towards the top. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
What are the chances of us losing any of our good players that should return? Basketball players are notorious for transferring all over the place. Also....is there any chance Roby thinks he's ready for the NBA? I really hope none of that happens. But.....it is college basketball. Quote Link to comment
ECisGod
Are you sure Carr (PSU) and Bates-Diop (OSU) are leaving early? I haven't seen anything on that. Quote Link to comment

But.....it is college basketball. I dont think Roby is there yet, but we can put him on watch next season. I think Palmer is 50/50. Copeland should be back Watson- Unless he thinks Allen or Xavier will overtake him, he should be back... hopefully with something to prove. I think Jordy might leave. I dont think he realized it was too late to transfer when he "took a break" I think he might end up booking. Jack McVeigh- Great guy but would like to use his scholarship elsewhere. Evan Taylor is a glue guy and I am bummed to see him go. He wasnt amazing but he was consistent. Some people think that because we just offered a Forward that Nana Akenten might be out... but who knows. If we can convince the core(Watson/Palmer/Allen/Roby/Copeland. 4 open scholarships/ 2 already spoken for(1 of those currently attached to Tanner but that is semester to semester). I think we have one more open up(Nana/Jordy/Jack). So we have 3 spots open. I think we add 1-2 transfers similar to what we did with Palmer and others. So they will have to sit out. With the final spot we add either Karrington Davis(He visited last week/ 6'6 guard/forward) or maybe go grad transfer route. Ideally if we can find a shooter to replace Gill or a guard with some handles/defense to replace Taylor. Also open to a 4/5 who can run the floor a bit and block a few shots ala Duby. Next years lineup: G- Glynn Watson/Xavier Johnson G-Thomas Allen/Nana Akenten G- James Palmer/Thorir Thorbjarnarson F- Isaiah Roby/Jack McVeigh/ Brady Heiman F-Issac Copeland/Jordy Tshimanga/Tanner Borchardt 1 Quote Link to comment

But.....it is college basketball. No chance Roby leaves. He's probably accessed about 50% of his potential. Dude is going to be a freak next year after another offseason. If he stays his senior year he could be 1st team B1G. He needs to focus on foul trouble. I don't think we need to worry about transfers of anyone significant this year. Those guys all left last year because they wouldn't sniff the floor with JPJ, Cope, Roby, etc. JPJ is the only one you'd have to worry about going pro but I highly doubt it. We should be scary good next year, just can't pull a this year northwestern or 2015 Nebraska. Quote Link to comment

Mock draft I saw has Bates-Diop as a mid second rounder in one and late 1st rounder in other. and Tony Carr as late first rounder in one and mid 2nd rounder in another. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
@Minnesota_husker @Blackshirts007 Appreciate your input. I'm honestly nervous going into this off season because I do think we could be scary good next year. However, it always seems like there is a basketball player or two that leave for reasons that leave me scratching my head. I hope not....Nebraska basketball is fun to watch right now. Usually it is after a bad year. I dont get the feeling Palmer will do us the way Andrew White did. I think the boys know we have something special here and 1 more year to achieve it. MileHighHusker
Any chance Xavier Johnson can play 2 guard? dude looks super athletic. If we can manage to get everyone to stay, we'd only really need to replace a spot for Taylor or gill ( assuming Johnson can play that position). Excited to see what we can do again next year. Nana or Thor could play the 2 if they have figured out the defensive scheme. Nana is crazy athletic with a decent shot & Thor is a little less athletic and has great range. Quote Link to comment

Equally important to keep the coaching staff intact. Miles assistants tree has been a turnstile. Finally getting some stability and established recruiting connections. Quote Link to comment
ECisGod
I'd be shocked if Corey Sanders is back at Rutgers. There is no chance he gets drafted by the NBA but based on his actions in their game in Lincoln, he is on the team in name only. He didn't participate in huddles if he wasn't in the game and he didn't go into the locker room before the game when the team would have been getting their last instructions about 10 minutes before the game started. B-town hoopsfan
I don’t see palmer or cope leaving, they might test the waters w that new nba rule but they will be back. Really hope that nana doesn’t leave, all the minutes he could want are right in front of him here. I do think if Watson is able to be a grad transfer that he might leave which even with his struggles would be a huge bummer since we rarely have 4 year players it seems. Mcveigh seems to be a real good character and glue guy but ya I’d love to use that scholarship elsewhere presumably for a transfer of our own. If Jordy leaves it will be a letdown after all the time they put into him and for the fact that we just don’t have anyone to replace that size. All n all tho we should probably be picked to contend for the big ten title next year w the likes of Michigan and Maryland and Wisconsin Quote Link to comment
