Good times don't last forever, the economy cycles just like the weather.  Installing Socialism doesn't prevent the bad times, it merely cuts off the good times down to Bo Pellini.

trump says the economy is the best it's ever been.  historically high.

You know you can structure an economy so it doesn't have devastating crashes. Sometimes having slow growth is actually better than fast growth. Weird right?

Okay so you admit DT is lying about the economy being the best ever than?

So....captain dumb a$$ gets elected on the mantra that he was going to have 5% growth year after year and everyone was going to be back to work making lots of money.....

Now....if the economy goes the way many think it's going to over the next 12-24 months, Republicans have the attitude....well...good times don't last forever.

Which...is interesting, because Trump was proclaiming that the Obama years were horrible economically and he would fix everything.

Please name some specific historical examples in detail that support this statement and its underlying view point.

Australia is a good example. I'm not an expert but I'd venture to guess 2008 wouldn't have been as bad if we had regulation preventing reckless lending practices. My point is maybe if we focused less on turning out the highest possible profit totals and more on creating a sustainable economy, we would be less affected by downturns in the economy. I will look for more actual data when I get the time.

What in the actual f*** is with the tone of the posts in this sub-forum?

It is seriously unbelievable how almost every single post is some kind of childish jab of partisanship. Seriously unreal.

Well you can structure an economy to mitigate the boom and bust cycle. It doesn't always work as intended and the financial institutions will invariably find loopholes, but it's one of those protections that should fall in Big Government's lap. Otherwise you simply privatize wealth at taxpayer expense, which really isn't the spirit of free-market capitalism.

What is one constant before every recession/depression? Tax cuts for the rich/corporations with the hope the money will make it to the hands of workers and/or create more jobs. Trickle down economics has been tried many times, including in Kansas and every time it fails. Stop doing that s#!t!

Do you have data that shows this?

“We're having historical prosperity right now not just by the American economy but the human race.”

“Good times don't last forever, the economy cycles just like the weather.”

Man, that was a fast flip. Must have taken a look at the stock market today lol.

There were tax cuts before the great depression. There were tax cuts before the Reagan recession. There were tax cuts in the Bush era. And there are tax cuts in DT era. I dont mean to sound like TheSker right now but its something you can google.

Im not saying its the only cause. Just that its a constant with all the recessions/depressions weve had. Plus you can look at Kansas economy slow when they tried trickle down economics a few years back also.
