Undone
Frost said he felt like we should tried to run more in the 3rd quarter and I agree. You had a lot of people saying "We took our foot off the gas" but that's kind of simplistic. To me, that usually happens from from running up the gut over and over and having that not move the chains. But we actually tried to throw a lot in the third quarter...probably too much. desertshox
the comment martinez made about distributing the ball to more receivers makes wonder if he is holding onto the ball longer in an attempt to find someone who hasnt had a pass thrown to him. 1 Quote Link to comment

God I hope not, but he’s in the pocket too long. If nobody’s open in about two seconds, then scramble out of it. 1 Quote Link to comment

Defensively, probably, but we've regressed so much on offense. This season has started, essentially, exactly the same as last year's team. Last year's opener was cancelled -> This year's opener was too close for comfort (probably the way Akron would have gone) Game 2 was a gut wrenching home loss to the Buffs -> This year, a gut wrenching road loss where we may have had more fans than CU in the stands. This team still has the mentality of a 4-8 team. 2 Quote Link to comment

Totally agree. And it's a vicious cycle; the less he tucks it and runs it, the more the other team's defense feels comfortable to just let their outside linebackers float back into coverage, compounding the whole problem of not being able to find an open guy quickly to throw to because there's no threat of him taking off for 20 yards like he did last year. I don't think Martinez is thinking to himself "Gee, I wonder who hasn't caught a pass today?" when he is making his reads. He's doing exactly what every other quarterback is trying to do when he drops back - find the read. And he's not doing a very good job of it right now. 1 Quote Link to comment
