Players will interchange throughout the games on who goes midfield. Anyone else recall a season where we have done this? Quote Link to comment

There was confusion in one of our games and we ended up kicking off to start both halves because one of the captains didn't answer the ref correctly. That was the last year Bo had rotating captains. Edit - According to Huskers.com, which only goes through 2010, the coaches appointed game captains each week for 2008, 2009 & 2010, then they decided on "season captains" at the end of the year. Here's Jeremiah Sirles' take on the Team Captain situation from 2012. EDIT AGAIN - apparently Bo stopped doing this in 2013. Seems like the incident with the kickoff confusion may have happened in 2012. Quote Link to comment

Landlord Posted August 26, 2016 Share Posted August 26, 2016 The kickoff kerfuffle was the 2012 Michigan game, I'm pretty sure. 2013 was when Bo got rid of the rotating captains, and also handed out blackshirts before the season started - there was a sentiment on here that he was finally changing and that these were signs of our program breaking through the 9-10 win ceiling.
