  1. To me it's pretty clear the Pac 12 is the better conference this year. The SEC didn't hardly beat anyone with a pulse in the OOC. They then spent the rest of the year with the media drooling all over them while they beat up on each other. They then laid a big egg (relative to what the media thought they would do) in the bowl games. Meanwhile, the Pac 12 actually played some good teams in the OOC with their best team beating a top ten team (possibly top 5) and they have a team in the championship game after winning a playoff game. I think it's laughable that someone would say "well, the Pac 12 is getting closer". Dude, they passed them up. Was talking to my roommate this weekend about where we would rank the various conferences for this year top to bottom. IMO it goes: 1)PAC-12 - Clear frontrunner 2-3)B1G/SEC - Both seemed to be pretty evenly matched this year, all teams considered. 4)Big 12 - Yes, TCU and Baylor are both elite teams but aside from that, Big 12 is a conference with a whole lot of offense and no defense. No other real standout teams, aside from maybe KSU.
  2. Anyone know anything about Utter? Unless I missed something or completely forgot about him, guy came out of nowhere.
  3. Not a member, don't recognize the guy, mind filling us in? Hank Hughes. Co-defensive coordinator at Cincinnati. Please no. Cinci's defense was absolutely horrible this year: FBS RANKING DEFENSE Rushing 183.7 (82nd) Passing 255.4 (93rd) Overall 94th I don't understand how him coming here as a position coach is effected by his CO- DC efforts. If we judge him by this, then Warren should be fired for his tenure as DC of Air Force. You don't think he had any impact on those numbers? I might accept him coming here as a position coach but how do we know it's not for DC?

  5. Also, speed is not an issue for Gerry. Kid set state records for track in South Dakota. Not sure where that idea is coming from...

I remember when my husband (who was born in Sept.) was 29 on the 29th and it snowed! One of the earliest snows for Omaha!

  8. Just thought I'd throw this out there: Saw Papuchis at a bar in DT Omaha this weekend wearing OSU gear. My Theories (which are mostly not serious): 1)He's being retained by Mike Riley 2)It's a parting gift from Riley (Riley had some leftover gear from OSU) 3)He's going to OSU 4)He's a huge Mike Riley fan and blew this season to get him hired as HC here
  9. I think blaming Eichorst was more of a cop-out for Bo. Bo is not the type of guy who likes to be micro-managed so Eichorst's style and "support" should have actually been a pretty good fit for him. If Eichorst was around the team all the time and was constantly looking over Bo's shoulder I can guarantee you Bo would have disliked that far more. I'm not sure what Eichorst could have done differently to help Bo succeed. Last I checked he wasn't the one losing in blowout fashion and going 3 and out time and time again.
  10. Complains about wasting money and then turns around and wastes more. Brilliant.

  12. I agree the defense put the offense in a lot of bad situations. However, this went both ways. If one side was doing their job, the other was not. Just look at the first quarter of the Wisconsin game this year as an example. The defense was playing lights out, the offense on the other hand probably couldn't gain yards if there was only 8 defenders on the field. There were not many times in the Pelini era where one side didn't effect the other.
  13. What happened to the Ivy League schools? I am guessing it is because his HS HC was named the HC at UNLV. I like my theory way better than yours Following the Cottonstache
  14. That would be the same rumor i have heard. His work ethic is struggling a bit and he is enjoying off the court more than being on the court. Yep, if he spent half the time that he spends DT trying to get better, I think we would see marked improvement.
  15. He's in college and deserves to enjoy it just like everyone else but it would behoove him to focus less on partying and more on basketball.
  16. Where are people getting the idea Riley is bringing his DC over with him? He recommended him as the OS HC replacement - I wouldn't be recommending someone for a job if I wanted them to take a different job.
  17. On the plus side, I'd say this means he's not bringing his DC with him: http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/riley-recommends-d-coordinator-for-osu-job/article_7b326d3e-7cb7-11e4-9a4c-3b01b7e80863.html

  18. I think he is stepping into a pretty difficult situation. We fired a guy who won 9+ games each year and had people on both sides of the issue. The Callahan/Pelini transition went much easier because almost everyone was done with BC. This transition will be a little tougher because there were still strong supporters of Bo....perception. The hire%2
